Default Is Jon "Bones" Jones the next Anderson Silva?

Very creative, varied, quick strikes. I don't remember any other fighter with such a vicious ground and pound! I think he's gonna be a dominating champ!

He didn't deserve that loss - the state athletic commission outlawed the 12 to 6 o'clock elbows to the head just because of the brick breaking demos that are popular with some martial arts schools, thinking that strike is much more powerful than other elbow strikes.

I've always been a big fan, he's exciting to watch, his hip throws and judo are out of this world, also, his age are all on his side. He will do big things.

But is using them twice in a row enough to disqualify hiim, or was it the fact that the matt didn't happen get up afterwards (not due to those strikes)?

I was very impressed with that fake punch to the gut/lower leg then twisting around with an elbow...slick. That guy's got talent for sure, and definitely humble even with the disappointing disqualification.

Dude has the most freakishly long arms I've ever seen. He lost because them's the rules, just like kicking to the head when a guy has a knee down.

Oh and thanks Jason for quoting Joe Rogan.

I've seen kicks or knees when a guy has a knee down, they take away a point, not end the fight with a disqualification. I think...?

They do take away a point if the guy can finish but Hamill had no defense at that point so they had to DQ Jones. Can't end a fight on an illegal blow and give the victory to the guy who used the illegal blow.

Gotcha, makes sense. It's a shame, he was complete dominating Matt. He kept looking up at the ref like...what else do i need to do?!

Yeah it was almost sad how Matt was being beat like that on the ground and Jones kept looking up. Jones really should have just stood back up and finished by a KO, Matt was already tore up. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Jon...t-Hamill-21351 Such a good athlete, and so humble.

Interesting interview of Jones from a few months back
Jon Jones Q&A: 'Machida ... is very beatable' - MMA Fighting Stances: Mixed martial arts intelligence from the cage and ring - USATODAY.com

Big big things for this guy, I'm looking forward to watching him grow in the sport!
