Default Kosei k1's don't fit right?

I called up Tirerack today to find out about the Kosei K1 Racing (the 6 spoke) in 15x7 38mm offset. He told me that people had to run spacers to make them fit?

I searched here, miata.net and cr.net and didn't find any threads saying they needed spacers. He also said they only recommend a 195 tire. I'd like to run a 225/50/15 T1R (I get them for cost). I'm only lowered a little, from the threads I found it might be tight but it should clear. A 225/45/15 should clear without a doubt?

Does anyone have some good pictures of these on the car? I've been looking around but if anyone has some saved ones I'd like to see them.

No spacers are required. I got my K1's from tirerack too, they didn't mention anything about spacers.

I run a 16 x 7.5 +32 with a 205 Toyo. So the inside of my wheel is about where it'd be on a 7" +38 (0.25" ~ 6mm). The only issues I've ever had was when I ran my slammed racing beat springs. At full lock coming out of a parking lot the tire would hit the fender liner a little bit.

Plus braineack runs a 7.5" in a +38, I don't think he has issues.

I think you got a rookie on the phone.

I have the following in the garage:

15x7 +38 K1 - Toyo 205/50/15 RA's - Bought these from a guy who had them on his Miata, not sure if it was an NA or NB.

17x7.5 +35 K1 - 205/40/17 - Came on the car I bought. Fit fine, though I only drove it home on them, and took them off.

17x7.5 +45 K1 - 205/40/17 - Came with the car I bought. Haven't used them.

Thats good to know. I have been trying to figure out what wheel I want for at least a year, then when I decide and I hear it doesn't fit I almost went crazy. I'm painting them flat black like my current wheels, I'm pissed I have to buy brand new wheels and strip em. I just can't find a used set.
