bad grammar and spelling is essentially apathy about the language. and apathy about the language is disrespectful to speakers of the language.
if i'm not sure how to spell a word, I have a whole lot of internet to check my spelling.
i can't say I relate because I can't relate. i see people type words wrong and I wonder how they came up with the spelling. did they guess? did they learn it wrong? did they just make something up? seriously. seryuslee.

Word! I may let some slip every now and then, but I try to do it all by the books. I have lost a lot of English skills since school, since I don't have to write much in my job. I find myself using Google for WAY to many words, some that I am quite embarrassed (that word <---) about. Thank god for Google Chrome too, since it has a spell check and lets me know when I'm being a back woods hick of a speller. No excuse to have bad grammar and spelling. I be tipe'n n **** sun. Dis grammer iz fo tha burdz...

Well at first I thought that all the internet misspellings and grammar butchery were intentional attempts at humor. Then, when I found out that a lot of people were serious, I felt what the Japanese refer to as "haji" or feeling ashamed by witnessing other people's shameful acts. I failed grade school and flunked out of college but have done decently in life thanks to self-education so I never took the high school dropout statistic too seriously. A lot of people who are fucktarded in their spelling/grammar are actually pretty darn fucktarded in broad areas of basic nonspecialized knowledge about the world and the US society. The DC area has a decent amount of pretty educated and intelligent people as well as decent pooschools so I frequently forget that the bell curve is sadly valid.
That **** said, the purpose of language is to communicate abstract concepts right? While a lot of you have smashed the spellingstupid, I usually do understand what most of them are trying to say. I personally find that the lack of spelling and grammar on the internets adds a special kind of cute quaint humorous colloquialism.
