i dont pass on double yellows primarily because they frequently precede blind corners, rises, etc. the real story is that slow jerks need to pull over.

If someone wants to pass me I don't have any reason not to let them. I do block the ******** who use turn lanes and run off lanes to get one car length ahead of you in traffic, that's just silly.

Or wait until the VERY last second to merge over when a lane is ending...has been ending for 400 feet...and they have known it was ending for 2 miles. **** em.

Anything less than 10 under I'll roll around you like a drunken sorority chick in a jello wrestling match.

<- Ragtopgirl... She's a putz... I can't stand her. I don't have time to be bothered with reading the drivers manual... spoon feed it to me please.

Bitch, Please... learn to read.

I've followed cars going 10mph under the speed limit until they get to a passing zone. They then speed up to 10mph over the limit until they reach the end of the passing zone and resume going 10mph under. In effect, blocking people from passing them.
Sounds like people in PA drive just like they do in OR! That crap happens every time I drive home from the beach. Semi twisty 2 lane roads someone always drives 45mph. Opens up to passing lanes and it looks like a Nascar race. Suddenly Grampa driving 45 is doing 70 and everyone's floored trying to get by. Then it's on the brake back to 45.

I swear, bazooka's should be perfectly legal for use on those guy's. Maybe they could issue hunting licenses. Kind of like a Doe tag.

I agree on the last part of the above statement.
However in many cases the double yellows are dumbed down ... esp when you have 1 hp per 10 lbs... I will believe my own eyes before I believe double yellows, or dashed lines.

Lastly, the original post on MF talks about the special case in PA, where it is LEGAL to pass on double yellows, if there is no sign that says otherwise. (double yellows with no sign means "inadvisable", not illegal).

I'll go until a lane ends when traffic is slow or if I can pass safely (not swerving over at the last second).

If everyone gets over 2 miles back then traffic is backing up uselessly and everyone doesn't play by that rule anyway.

I'll pass on a double yellow only very occasionally if I know the road or there is someone ahead on the radio (I'm less risky on the bike about this though).

Some of those guys need to pull their head out of their ***. I wonder if they set at a Stoplight at 3 oclock in the morning with no one around.

Funny, the one time my friend decided to pull away from a red at 3am on a country road there was a cop there.

i've done it before, but i don't get surprised when i get lights flashed or the finger. i'd like him to test his theory directly in front of a cop and try to argue his way out of a ticket. it'd would probably only end up with him getting more tickets for aggravating the cop lol

I can not believe the painfully dimwitted people that try to stop other people from passing them by blocking the road. What are they trying to achieve really?
- Stop somebody from doing something illegal? Why? It is there ticket, let them have it!
- Stop somebody from doing something dangerous? Well, then stepping of the gas and moving a bit to the right should be much safer, wouldn’t it?
- Stop somebody from crushing their manly feeling of being the fastest guy on the road and thereby their chances of getting it up later the same evening? Get a life!

Censored again by Hitler on m.net.

He removed from my post the word "***" and this line:

"EDIT: Oh, and when you're getting onto a freeway or highway where the speed limit is 65, 60, 70, 75 and you're merging doing 45 you should be FREAKING SHOT!"

yeah, that's almost worse. Or people who actually come to a complete stop when merging at a yield sign.

I don't have an issue with this. Yield doesn't mean blindly enter a road...I regularly have to stop at a yield sign on my way home from work.
