I notice he doesn't say HE runs 13 flats, just that others on that forum do. I took a quick look at the dyno and 1/4 mile listing over there. Only 20 members out of nearly 3000 boast over 200hp. The top is 254. The quickest 1/4 mile posted was 13.1 @104mph. The next quickest were all over 13.5 seconds.
Ummm. Who's bragging about nothing? They don't even ask for proof of any of these claims to post them up. I'm guessing most of those 20-35K cars have as much or more money in aftermarket accessories as our cheesy little NA/NB's do. Strangely they aren't making any more power or are as quick.
I don't hate MSM's. No problem with them at all. Don't care for elitists or Ms. Yndor. I can respect trouble makers who at least choose a side, not wafflers.

I hang out their (sic) just to stir up $hit and **** them off....
Oh yeah, and many of them are making less than 200 hp with a lot of time and money invested in their junkyard kits and think they are king $hit. A lot are around 150hp. One guy was posting up a few days ago about his 13.9 run at the drag strip. I didn't even bother to mention that there are people running 13 flat with bolt ons on MSMs.

So one person saying something stupid classifies the whole site as morons? In that case m.net, MS, and CR.net are all far more moronic than the members here....right? I mean at least most of the people here know what they're talking about and most of those who don't keep their mouths shut, read, and learn <---take a hint.

I've read 90% of that anti-MT thread. I've been here for 2 years. I've been OP on many threads. I've asked plenty of dumb questions. I've contributed plenty of dumb answers. I've never taken the negative crap I've personally or thought it a sign that this board wasn't going to help me.
Over the last 6 months crapping on Newbs picked up. That has been talked about here, people have been asked to tone it down and measures have been taken to help the situation.
Some of the biggest complaints about this site are caused by the Newbs themselves. They see old members popping off, see no controls regarding language and they figure that's the way things are done. That was a big part of the negativity here. Not the knowledgeable established people but the new a-holes trying to look smart and fit in.
Anyway, I don't care either way. I just had some time to kill to chime in on this thread. Like I said I have nothing against MSM's. Newb's like you and meh-syndor coming here, just the stir the pot and not contribute, should go home where you are tolerated and leave this board alone.

2. No I didn't say I ran a 13 flat. I don't drag race my miata. I have a mustang for that. I have no desire to take a miata to a drag strip. The person I was refering too that ran a 13 flat was at a local track, I saw the run so I didn't need any additional verification. Do I care if for what ever reason you don't believe that...ahhh...no!
3. 200 rwhp is fairly standard for a bolt on MSM, so what, if it's not posted on a message board it doesn't count?
4. Not sure where you get this 20-35K cars from. Brand new MSM sold for 26-27K, and nice used one go for mid teens
5. Not that many bolt ons for MSM's so not a lot of money to spend on them with the exception of a hydra.
6. Elitest? not sure where you get that from. The MSM is my first miata, just bought it cause I like it. I was amazed at the attitude of MSM owners on all miata sights, somewhat elitist, including this one.
My MSM is just a damn miata. A fun little car. I think arguing over which miata is better is pretty damn stupid. But that's just me.

And for the record, don't base that entire site off haverty, if you look around a bit you will find he catches a lot of **** there too. My personal opinion is he probably spends more time there because it's less volitale. I can't see him lasting more than a few days here if he posted regularly.

Msyndor,
Hey if you are a decent guy here now, sorry. I was going from what I read in that thread at MS.net. I didn't say you claimed a 13, just pointed out that you were critical of times people were posting here without actually running a time yourself. It'd be like me badmouthing an ultimate fighter as a pansy for losing a fight, having never actually fought myself.
Yes I'm wrong on pricing. I revise that to 15-30K.
My post and criticism of you was in response to your postings in this thread and the other at MS. You said that stuff. I didn't pull those quotes out of the air. You were critical of DIY'ers pride and their accomplishments without having much to be proud of yourself. That's elitist to me. I'd be critical of someone coming in here from a Ferrari forum criticizing turbo Miata's too. "Gee I bought a 360 Modena and these a-holes here are talking up their shitboxes." See, elitist. Just an exageration to demonstrate my point.
As far as bolt ons not adding up to much money, it looks like most of the people making decent power with MSM's are doing full replacement kits. Not any less money than what I spent putting a full kit into my car but the MSM requires a more expensive ECU. Way more money than the DIY'ers here that piece together used and home fabbed kits spend.
Like I said. If you aren't just here to stir the pot fine. Sorry. Just took your word as your word. If you've learned different or changed your attitude great. Happy as a clam.
Don't really care. Just had time to kill and felt like popping off.
