MTnet Builds Flying Machines: Failure Accomplished
#445
Ok, instead of Gimbal stuff i'm going to sell the big CF rig of mine. Flys great on the basic KK2.1 and with a 100 buck gimbal shot great video. However its built for a bigger camera that i'll never bother sending it up with and way overkill for me. The FPV works but never had the opportunity to use it due to being around folks and uncomfortable with testing.
Its a Tarot 680 Pro, folds up nicely for transport.
Has Turnigy 690KV motors and Carbon Fiber props (including a full plastic spare set and 4 pairs of extra NEW CF props)
Afro ESCs - unsure of flashed/updated or not but they controlled perfectly.
middle and front struts are wrapped in two different LED colors and powered by their own ESC.
FPV is the basic Hobby king FPV setup that has the foam case face piece
Battery is a 30c 5000mah 4cell
Controller is a Flysky setup
Frame - Tarot 680PRO HexaCopter Folding Frame 3K Carbon (KIT)
$114
Motors - Turnigy Multistar 4822-690Kv 22Pole Multi-Rotor Outrunner (AR Warehouse)
6x $33 = $198
ESCs - Afro ESC 30Amp Multi-rotor Motor Speed Controller (SimonK Firmware)
6x $14 = $84
Controller - FlySky FS-T6 2.4ghz Digital Proportional 6 Channel Transmitter and Receiver System
$55
Extra BEC - brand not sure, $5
Battery - ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 4S1P 30C
$40
FPV setup - Quanum Complete FPV Bundle Set w/ Goggles, 5.8GHz 32ch Video TX & RX, CP Antennas and Camera(PNF)
$75
Gimbal (not the one pictured) - servo based and good for still pictures but not video
$10
Just under 600 bucks worth of gear basically and fully assembled/test flown and documented.
Pictures!

Sample video of it that was with the gimbal pictured that is NOT included unless you want to add another $100 in (which you can buy them for on Amazon). Raw footage:
Asking $500 and really suggest Local to the Chicago area.
Here first and then onto CL later today.

Late reply, but I built a little 250 racer. Nice little build, very tidy.
Unfortunately I cant even begin to fly the thing. Just hovering it around or trying to fly a pattern is challenging. I have no idea how these guys race them.

Okay, made it through the thread... some nice builds.
I've been into RC modeling since I was 9-10, but I've always just flown fixed wing aircraft for the most part. I'm not into quad racing, I'm more of a cruiser, but I have a 450mm I 3d printed and built last year, pics will be below. I'm just too slow to be good at the racing, and i find more interest in distance/endurance.
It's a DJI Naza Lite FC w/the regular Naza firmware flashed on it and a DJI motor/esc pack I got off a friend for like 30 bucks. I use a RunCam2 for the camera on it. Not shown in the picture there, but I have a xmitter pod on that fits on the opposite arm with a 5.8ghz transmitter. I have other various accessories I've designed and printed for like dropping cargo and fun things like that. It's based on the "Crossfire2" on thingiverse, and I've submitted a lot of improvements to the design there as well. Battery is a 8000 mAh 4S and it flys so long I get bored most of the time and land.
I also had a DJI Phantom 3 as my "nice" quad until 3 months ago. I had designed a bunch of auxillery battery pack holders for it, and ran them in parallel with the main pack. I sold it before the new Phantom came out and it was worthless.
Sorry I don't have any pics of it just by itself.
