Yep it's running smooth. I believe brad is in Kentucky rigth now, but we fixed an oil leak problem at the return, changed the oil, reworked the IC pipes a tad, and installed and modded an undertray.

Then we took it for a drive to an ongoing autox event and I tuned the fuel on the way. We started at 6psi and acutally raced a saab 9-5 aero that could only pull on us up top. Then we proceeded to up the boost to about 11psi, however we could get another stretch of street....turns out the guy went to the same autox.

anyways. 11psi feels nice, it spools fast and the thing feels smooth as hell. no more black smoke death on his bumper. after reviewing a log we took I need to retune the EBC a bit, but at least its running and running good after all this time.

hmm I might still have the endlinks from the parts car. I think they're the same, but is it the right or left that he needs? I'll see if I can find them.

Whats up ya'll... I had bought a damn endlink, but I can't find it...so if you have one i'll be glad to pick that up. As far as me being in kentucky, a government agency has a facillity out here near cincinnati which I'm just stuck at. At least I got a suite and a free golf facility tho!

So an update on the carPC:
I managed to price out two systems and costs for DIY verses some various options. Please skip the long post if you dont care about the CarPC specs/pricing. Please do not post "Use a laptop" as I've done this before using both a laptop and a PC system. I'm looking to try the full CarPC route this time. The laptop would only be ideal if you could solder a button to the power switch to relocate it. Furthermore, laptops run about the same price.

I've carefully considered two options:

First the DIY route with the self build:
Motherboard- Intel Based w/ celeron 1.33 ghz– 70 http://store.mp3car.com/Intel_D201GL.../mtb-053.htmrl
Hard Drive – Seagate Momentus 60 GB – 25– ebay
Ram- DDR400 512 MB – 25 – ebay
Case w/ powersupply- 75-99 dollars depending on what you want or BUILD IT (old broken amp)
M1 or m2-ATX ~ 75 ebay

270 dollars + various shipping charges
Please keep in mind this does not consider if you get lucky and save a few bucks here and there on ebay or if you have spare parts laying around. In this example I already have a 7" xenarc touchscreen model. Now the pro to this is that I believe the intel celeron may have a bit more throughput then the VIA processor. This is all speculation from what I've heard of users of the VIAs.

Now the less DIY alternative, pre-built.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Carputer-Car-PC-...QQcmdZViewItem

Jetway C7 - 1.5 GHZ
Toshiba 80 GB
512 Ram
M1-ATX
Power Supply and Voom Case

415 dollars shipped

This would still be cheaper then most people are currently offering on the market. I am placing my order probably next week once I figure out what the total will be with shipping on the DIY route.

pretty sick stuff man, I would love to have one of those things but being the cheap man I am I will stick with my laptop which runs out of batteries after 2 hours of use and fill the dins with a pocket and a cheap stereo.

Those do not contain a shutdown controller which would add on another 75-80 bucks. Plus more RAM = 25. I currently have one of these powered by an AMD mobile athlon under my TV for internet on my TV. The real issue is that these still use more power then the standard VIA or Jetway chips.

Also it uses a standard hard drive. When dealing with mobile usage of a PC you want to use a laptop hard drive because they are less prone to damage from vehicular use. I rocked a straight ATX PC in my IS300 carputer and the HD suffered from many issues due to the lack of the shutdown controller and laptop HD. The good cheapo solution to this is cutting racquetballs to use as dampeners.

So we were boosting the other day and my exhaust got extremely loud and I lost all boost. Here's the culprit.

This is the ebay t25 gasket after ONE week. Now I took it apart and removed the manifold studs to plane it.. and one of the damn studs broke. When will it end?

Gaskets are the suck. I have a copper gasket and it leaks a bit.

Update on the car PC:
Housing is now flushed w/ the OEM center (thou hard to tell from the pic). All thats left to do is make a plastic piece and flush that to cover the bottom hole so I can do the dash delete. Gotta touch up one spot on the lower right also. Sorry crappy cam phone pic

Today I ordered the components to the CarPC. I did ALOT of price comparison (thanks work hours!) and came up with this setup. All prices include shipping. I hope this helps anyone else who is looking to do this.

Jetway C7 mobo 1.5 ghz (136) (MITXPC- ebay)
M1-ATX PSU w/ startup-shutdown controller - (70) - ebay MITXPC
RAM - Kingston DDR2-533 (26) - new egg
Hard drive (0) - I have a 40 gb laptop drive
Case (0) - Braineack has donated his old amp housing to the project
Biometric Reader (0) - I do it for a living
Xenarc 7" touch screen (0) - had it from another project

Grand total = 232 dollars

This will not include cords needed
(1) extended USB cable from MS->CarPC
(1) extended VGA cable (have)
(1) extended USB cable touchscreen->PC (have)
