My name is Todd...and I'm a raging alcoholic

<preach> My baby brother died at 53 a few years ago by destroying his liver. They would not even consider a transplant until he was 6 months off the sauce, but he only lasted a month after being hospitalized.
Saddest part was before he went into a uremic coma and died. He asked me with tears in his eyes; "Why me, Butch? The other guys drink as much as I do" </preach>

I'm sorry, but if you're even drinking Absolut or Smirnoff you deserve a hangover.
They have their place, and that's at parties where the hangover will be the least of the regrets the partiers will have the next day, like those shindigs at hustler's place.
I have heard, and think it was here, that you can filter cheap vodka using coffee filters and end up with something that is indistinguishable from the high dollar quality stuff.

forget name brands (and I think the mythbusters debunked the filter thing).
taste them or buy each in a mini bottle and decide for yourself. when in doubt, get the rail/well vodka in your mixed drinks and get the top shelf for drinking straight.

EDIT: Y8s kinda beat me to the mythbusters thing, they didn't so much bust it though, an "expert vodka taster" could pick out the unfiltered low-end all the way up to the high-end stuff with 7 levels of filtering of the cheap stuff in between all in perfect order.

Hey olderguy, I'm truly sorry to hear about your brother.
Also, I guess I gotta check out mythbusters, but most of all, I should focus on running that 2.2 mile course in 10 minutes instead of getting **** bagged wasted every day that I don't have to be at work.

How much would you pay? I am 2 minutes away, and I honestly think that I could do it with enough ambition and training...and also a hefty wager!!

I run the 2 mile on my PT test in just over 13mins and I'm on of the fastest people in my unit, 2.2 miles in 12 minutes is freakin beast for anybody.

I bet he could make that time. In high school when I ran like there was no tomorrow I did 8 miles in 52 mins (6:30/mile) and I'm by no means an olympian. I normally ran 3.5 miles 3x a week when I pulled that off. Now I do my 1.5 mile PT test (USAF) in the 9:40s and I'm outta juice at the end :(
