Now I'm really mad I had to work. Did anyone see this?

I missed out on an autocross school and 2 competition days because of work. Now I'm really dissapointed. This was at Portland International Raceway. Wasn't even a track day, just autocross. Makes Undercover Brother look like Sterling Moss. At least the comedian only wrecked one car.http://jalopnik.com/cars/news/porsch...oss-254809.php
Would have loved to have seen this live! Lesson learned. Friends don't let friends drive exotics.
My dad flipped an '87 Civic Si running D Stock at an autocross in '95.
The helmet has a nasty scrape where it dragged the ground through the sunroof.
It pretty much brought the whole event to a halt.. for half an hour.

How freakin fast was this guy going? To go off course and plow through at least 5 cars. The damage done was unbelievable. I can't stand that I missed this.
Tim, where are you in Oregon. I'm aquiring parts for my build and would love to see what you did if you are in the area. Any other DIY miata turbo guys in Oregon?

I guess everyone's stories of flipping cars, plowing cars, etc. makes considering the scca racing insurance something to look into. The guy with the GT3 could easily be out the car and the price for all the others.

I'd love to but I'm pretty much stuck with driving events during the week. Weekends are my busiest time at work. I can occasionally slip out for local events but can't lose a whole day. Oh the joy of small business ownership.
Sounds like you get around quite a bit. Do you ever run in any HPDE events up at PIR? More of these happen mid week so I get to these more than I can autocrosses.

oh cool, I work right around the 99w/tualatin-sherwood hwy intersection. do you live in tigard?

read the comments after the pics, interesting.
i used to stage autocrosses for a club when i lived in michigan. i never saw any wrecks. i did see some stupid moves though and banned 3 people from our events.
i stopped autocrossing because i grew tired of dealing with peoples' petty bullshit. i switched to hpde and track events. much better.
