I had to share this story. I've been working a deal for some parts at a reasonable price from some guy who claimed he made 400 rwhp out of his miata. I would ask him technical questions and he had no idea basically about anything. I finally decided he knew nothing about cars. His final response was "I just showed up and paid the bill". So the parts came the other day and finally he sends me a mail saying he is the original owner of the car below, which some of you might recognize.



Yes, it was the same guy that dipped his wheels in 24k gold and tried to sell the miata for 40k.

Once I drove to work after Jay Leno on the 405 north - 118 east - 5 south to Burbank. He was in the LCC Rocket - it was a hilarious sight - SUVs changing lanes afraid not to drive over the little go-cart and I just drove behind the LCC. Later that day I saw him at the Poquito Mas - he had changed the LCC with some antique car. We chatted for few minutes at the PT drinks fountain laughting about the morning freeway caravan.

Btw, Jay Leno had (probably still has it) a red supercharged NA Miata (inherited it from his brother) which he drives sometimes.

That's my only big celebrity encounter of the third kind. I've been around a bunch of others (few feet from Bono, Gary Busey, Paris Hilton, Vin Diesel, etc.) but Jay has been the only one I've talked to.

Haha. I doubt it. That car probably has the JR AFPR which was part of that kit back then and I doubt he will be doing any changes to it ...

We shared a subway ride with Robert Davi (special agent Johnson from Die Hard). Later we were sitting in the airport with him and the whole time he was trying really hard to pick up some hot chick. She was pretty annoyed with him.
