it's a tower defense type of game, more of a lane defense.

Default Spoilers follow

Do not look at the videos if you don't want to see my unconventional solutions to the higher levels.

Well, I finally now finished it. Thanks for killing my whole morning, Scott.

Is it just me, or does the scoring system not seem to reward minimalist solutions- those which use fewer parts than the "official" solution, and/or complete more quickly?

For instance, compare my level 28 solution to the official one. I bypassed the whole ramp/bouncer thing and just shot the ball right over the top of it all into the bucket:

Ditto level 26. Didn't use the hammer and all that other crap, just went for the straight shot:

I would have expected to see a bonus in the score for this sort of economization.

Also, there is an element of randomness in this game- the same rules do not apply to every run. My solution to level 29, for instance, used one fewer wheel than was provided, but it tended to lock up about 50% of the time (the ball gets stuck.) I can run it twice in a row without changing anything, and it'll fail once but then succeed the next time. Why does the conditions seem to change between runs, I wonder? Is it deliberate?

I actually noticed that the solution to level 28 was a little different than what they actually gave to work with. The bricks and spring and bounce that were "fixed" were in different positions.

Interesting point. I just looked at their very complex solution to 31, and it actually doesn't work at all. See: http://www.king.com/game/sponsored-g...US&solution=31

By contrast, I solved level 31 with just a single domino and it works flawlessly every time.

That's exactly the solution I came up with on that one. Just launch the ball over the top. Simple.

They don't seem to be looking for the simplest solutions. They seem to reward "elegant" complex solutions. I disagree with the creator and say the most elegant solution is the most simple.

Again Brains solution to 27 was just what I did. Took me a couple tries though to get the height of the large bend right.
