Price check on insides of open diff without R&P

1.8l or 1.6l? Is this for a temporary fix or something more permanent? I have a 1.8l open diff I'm not using but it's got a few miles on it by the looks of it. It's missing the outer bearing races though.

Prices for clean scrap iron seem to be in the neighborhood of $100 per ton. I've no idea how much the iron part of the housing weighs (maybe 30 lbs?) so I'd figure it's worth around a buck fifty.
If the aluminum carrier is intact, that'll fetch maybe $50-$100 on ebay.
Then again, you never know. This Fellow is asking $650 for a 1.6-size open diff without the carrier.

It'll turn, but it will take a lot of wear and tear on the inside tire. CV joints, splines, etc. We run welded Toyota gears in our Legends and Thunder Roadsters and have never had one break. But for some reason we strip out spools. But on the street in would be a lot of stress with all of the sharp turns.
