Interesting; this is a kind of reverse Turing test. A computer would pass it easily, a human would most likely fail.

this reminds of an argument I had on a photography forum with some dumbass who edited another's photo of fruit because he thought the orange wasn't close enough to some pantone swatch called "citrus orange" he was using as a reference. made the entire image look green in order to force the orange fruit to match a random paint swatch.

Could we have him repeat the experiment, but with a stock, airbag-equipped steering wheel, so that we have good data for comparison?

T-boned someone who ran a red light? maybe he should also be looking where he is going in addition to the air bag.

While the wheel is broken, looks like most of the damage to him was below the hips. I imagine the results would be largely the same.

Hmm, if that windshield is showing a head impact, then it is quite possible his lower torso also impacted it. It goes without saying that would not have been the case with an operational bag (and perhaps a properly tensioned seat belt ).

You would not believe the way people run red lights here.

Yellow.....1.........Red........1.........2....... ....3..........and they will still go through it. It's common.

Was he not wearing a belt? I'm surprised the belt gave him that much slack to where he hit the steering wheel and his legs impacted the bottom of the column.

How fast was he going?
I am speechless.

Dude, this is Florida we're talking about. It wouldn't be that unusual if he wasn't wearing pants, much less a seat belt...

Yup.

My light turned green, i waited to see what the idiot across from me was going to do (he was going to turn, but didn't have his signal on, made me nervous), the realized he didn't have his signal on, put his signal on, THEN i went.

Easily 5-7 seconds after my light turned green.

Ease out into intersection, get smacked by idiot going 40-50mph through the light.
