I dont get this at all... from what I see the cons outweigh the pros by alot. The only pro I can see is that it may be cooler at the back of the car then under the hood, but how are you going to run all that piping and not heatsoak from the exhaust? Plus you have to buy all that extra tubing, and your turbo is much more exposed to the elements then it would be if it was under the hood.

So lets see
Pro:
Possibility of cooler air at the rear of the car

Cons:
Extra cost of tubing
heatsoaked tubing
IMO unsafe location for the turbo to be
LAG

Anything else?

won't really hurt the turbo being back there. if you're thinking in terms of water/snow etc. i like the idea of a clean engine bay, but i'm with ya on pretty much everything else.

just seems that if something breaks, it'll drop pretty easy, if he would make some real brackets to hold it up it wouldnt be so bad.

And there is partly the reason it is a bad idea. And he wonders why the turbo is so slow to spool.
