Maybe he spilled coffee in his lap while cruisin down the freeway... Ended up running off the road, car slid sideways and started rolling down the hill and landed rubber side up on another street..

I'm 6'2 and fit under my rollbar with a light foam-extomy. I feel very safe driving my car with the rollbar.

I sat in Pauls car with the foam removed. Felt kinda like sitting on the toilet.

I have fucked up sciatic in both legs so I don't want to risk changing the angle that I sit at. I can manage about an hour and a half in the miata with no pain, I really don't want to mess with that.

Sam. Just get a street bar and call it good. Won't sit tall enough to keep you from getting road rash on your head should you roll but you won't get crushed. You also won't whack your head in a more conventional accident.

What is this? Post # 327 by you about roll bars?!?

- cars can flip w/o hitting another car, or an obstacle. My dad's done it twice, once with me watching.

- get one and pad it!

- I'd have to bend at some funky angles for my head to touch my bar.

Isn't he the one that's supposed to be taking care of your car while you're in AIT? If so I'd be a little worried with that little bit of information if I was you .

Niether was his fault, the first was a rental that slid sideways on some ice beneath a bridge, then the tires gripped on the other side and flipped the car. He enjoys recalling the look on the clerks face when he returned their car on a flatbed.

The second (the one I saw happen) was in '95 in Milwaukee in the parking lot of the Brewer's stadium. His DS '87 Civic Si with no mods other than DOT slicks found too much speed and grip on entering the slalom. Right, left, roll!

PS - I've been out of AIT for nearly two years and have my Sergeant promotion board on Monday

I just got flashbacks of Jackass the movie when you said returning a rental on a flatbed, LOL

Being out in Cali learning Arabic doesn't count as AIT?

In case you wanted to know, According to my recruiter my waiver should be back this week and I should be swearing in by Monday if all goes well.

So how many of us here can attest to rolling a Miata over?
If you're properly belted in, you'll be fine...and by properly belted in I mean 4/6point harness.

I got smacked by a semi that the driver fell asleep on the interstate about two years ago in my greddy'd '90. Hit both guard rails with the driver's side of the car...found blood from my head on one of the guardrails (first hit my head broke the window, second it smacked the rail) and finally landed on the dr. side a pillar against the guard rail...if the rail wasn't there I would have flipped 5-6 times at least instead of coming to a stop....

I walked away with the cut to my head and a cut on my shoulder, no one stopped the entire time it took for the state police to get there (almost a half hour) and the semi driver kept going so I didn't get a dime for the incident.

EDIT: stock seats, seat belt, softop, no roll bar/style bar/etc...
