oil
if car shifts ok
rust

It ain't an E30, but it still doesn't have many parts. Check the top for the beginnings of rips. Blue replacement tops cost more than black or tan tops, plus you're stuck with the higher end replacement tops, not the cheaper ones, on top of the extra ~$100 for it being blue.

Unless it's been replaced, the clutch will suck. Don't let it slide thinking it just doesn't feel like your twin plate.

Also, when you buy your second Miata they actually check your hairdresser's license at the DMV before they let you tag it. Have it handy.

Don't forget bushings n' such. I know it's a light car and all, but after that many miles if they haven't been replaced already then they will need to be.

It's time for another episode of TrollFae!

OP: Instead of buying a $50k reliable car that gets 500 hp with bolt ons, I think I want another miata.

OP: This miata will be my reliable daily driver.

OP: here is my new miata with all the mileage used up and about 10k left to drive before it simply falls apart into 600 pieces!

oh and the whole thing about the 350hp miata is putting power to the ground without the impossible clutch is impossible.

MAYBE you could have done an organic twin plate clutch with a super super stiff pressure plate and had it be streetable, but..

So many questions want answers...
How the F does a 10AE get that many miles on it?
How is a 10AE still kept in that condition after that many miles on it?
Are you seriously buying this? I mean, it sounds like a good deal and all, but WHY WOULD YOU WANT THIS?
How do you go from near 40k for a mercedes or BMW, to a $3,000 Miata from 1999?

F a simple timing belt change...it's going to need so many old things replaced like, motor, clutch, every suspension bushing, shocks, sways, springs, yada yada yada. I could see buying this one and making it into the highest horsepower 10AE miata, but that's about it.

I'll tell you what...
Buy it, and sell me the motor so I have a core to start my build. Then you can swap in your a VVT motor and put your old hotside setup on it, your eibach springs, your other 6UL's; and then you can have a fast daily that's lowered.

Well the car sounds cheap.

Yes clutch and bushings and shi will cost money but i prob would have to do that stuff for any cheap miata i get. I even already have a spare 6 puck sprung ebay clutch. Yay.

If i say get it for 3000 and put in

Bushings 400
Radiator 150
Clutch masta n slave n line 350
O2 sensor 100
Miscwhoknowsthefukwhat 1000

I come out with a decent miata for 5000. If not rusted, beat to fugly, or weak motor, this sounds pretty good to me.

Btw for those who didnt notice

BIMMER WAS A ROLLING TURDBUCKET.

He's trolling hardcore. Look at the picture he posted, notice that he did not copy the URL from a CL add, he instead saved the picture and uploaded it as an attachment.
I did a google images search of 10AE Miata, and sure enough this popped up:

It is/whats for sale on a honda/acure forum, here is the add:

1999 Miata 10th Anniversary Edition; SF Bay Area, CA
1999 Miata 10AE

~69k miles, in very good condition with smog and inspection recently performed. Looking to sell quickly.

-Clean title, no accidents; VIN:JM1NB3539X0136447
-Power windows & locks, alarm, LSD, Bilstein shocks, Nardi wheel & shifter
-60k service has been done
-Top is in great shape (no tears, leaks, holes, etc.)
-Original paint
-Upholstery is in great condition
-Scratch on the trunk & a few door dings
-Could use some new tires soon

This is my brother's car. He purchased an S2000 and I'm just helping him sell his Miata. It should be noted that the car hasn't been washed in the pictures. I'll try and post pictures of it cleaned later if requested.
Nice try FaeFlora, IF THAT IS YOUR REAL NAME

I should get + props for this.

My clutch is pretty streetable. But all of my built up cars led me to shoot for the 350whp car with a streetable setup. Almost there.

Fae,

Instead of the mega mileage 10AE, why not just pick up the 99 in the classifieds:

https://www.miataturbo.net/cars-sale-trade-6/1999-mazda-mx-5-miata-%243400-obo-63118/

Simple cosmetic crap to fix.

Or get a real daily to drive. We already question your manhood so it's OK to pick up an auto trans car for commuting. I got sick of hitting the beltway in my DSM with the calf workout clutch so I ended up getting another stock car for my commute.

Some times you just gotta get from A to B.

Hell, that's why I take the Marc and Metro now.

To be fair, an ECU flash is a total game changer on E9x turbo cars. They go from snooze button to 'damn, girl' instantly.
