LoL(not really at you but at the inept State Government), I thought Californian teachers were leaving the state for a multitude of reasons?

GM is behind the times, hopefully they don't get bailed out as well.

GM is FAR too big to let them fail. Think of all the dealers, plants, parts, etc that would also fail. Most of GMs issues are the retired ******* and their pension and health care. I heard @ $5000 from every car goes to the health and pensions (past and future) account. If the GM plant in your area shuts down all those might be competing for jobs in your field and they have LOTS of experience.

It aint just the teachers that are leaving California...lots of folks are. I have no idea why I am here still...guess I love my job too much to leave.

GM spent a lot of money on alternative fuel ideas but never realy "got it". They have always been behind the curve. And they dumped a lot of cash in to play catch up. They should have quit with the EV1 and just bought the tech from someone else.

Mike I don't understand why you're always so happy about the declining health of the US. The big 3 are good for the US when the cars are built here. I WANT cars built here. I WANT plants open here.

I'm starting to wonder if you're a hippie.

You do realize that just about every auto manufacturer these days makes "these big *** useless piles of ****"? Will you be happy if every major auto maker takes a ****?

Even Kia makes a gas drinker.
Point is, it doesn't matter if we where not being rapped by the oil compannies. It isn't bad loans that cause people to lose their houses, it is a $3.00 raise is gasoline. My uncle pays a 1000 a month in gas. It used to be about $300.
And all the billions that would be spent across the economy, is just going out to the oil companies.
Believe what you want, it is a major factor.
