I've had the speedo pegged, no clue how fast I was actually going.

Well, according to Garmin GPS, on my trip in Utah I hit 262 mph...faster than a Veyron
Seriously though, I'm never looking at my speed-o when driving above 100mph on an empty highway. Now, at Road Atlanta, I was north of 130mph...and later discovered that was with a dislodged converter.... I'd imagine I can hit 145 back there.

Stock 6spd and 3.9 diff w/7700rpm redline on 215-40/17 tires.

My miata doesnt have very fancy wheels, but its what I could afford at the age of 16 for my first "mod" if you will, by replacing the steelies with american racing aluminum wheels, and the tires mounted are a class H tire, so 118 is pretty safe, not only that my wing is legit. I have a unique bracing system designed by my uncle from aluminum tubing in the trunk. I cant explain it, but he is a genius, I can still open my trunk, and all the down forces are distributed to my frame...

Maybe you have alot of money to blow, but in my eyes, alot of work and DIY fabrication went into my car that I did almost entirely myself, so to the person that cares (me), its far from stock.
Thanks for all of the info. It looks like I hit the ****** on the head. Let me get all the facts straight. Your 16 but were raised around meth/ highway/ gasoline barrels, and are a experienced driver. You atttended a Mazda Miata driver saftey class that was purchased for you by your mom. You basically went to a non-timed autox. You put American Racing 16" wheels and H rated tires on your car to be able to top it out. Then you and your genius uncle make a bunch of trunk bracing to support your wing. Which makes your car handle worse without some kind of front aero @120mph. Your sig says "It may be an automatic, but it still beats your stock WRX" Sounds pretty legit... watch out for natural selection.

My guess is your a clubroadster troll, if not...thanks for making my morning buddy lol

Edit: 15min later I'm still laughing, thanks

This.

Fastest I've gone was whatever you get out of 7,200 RPM in 5th, on a nice deserted stretch of I-8 east of San Diego. Speedo was indicating a little over 130, which is probably about right. This was with a 5 speed, 4.10 R&P, and 22.7" dia tires.

However, it was not a pleasant experience. Even with the hardtop on and the headlights down, the Miata doesn't have the best aerodynamics in the universe in stock trim. There's a reason that the track crowd have an affinity for wings, splitters, canards, and other aero gems.

Oh, and Hustler, Meth is a hell of a drug.

On the Interstate, I went about 130 something on the revlimiter in 5th gear with stock rear during my glorious and ignorant youth.

112mph in NA trim until I hit a June Bug; I swear I felt the car slow down.

Stock Miata w/ full interior and street tires, I'm just a hair over 100 on either straight at VIR. Damn thing feels like it hits a wall around 90 mph, obviously the GT2860RS I have sitting in my basement will cure that.

Fastest I've ever driven was 170 (a little over but I wasn't looking that closely) also at VIR, in an FD with a ported rotary, big single turbo, Hoosiers, and aero.

I've gotta agree with doppelganger. When i'm doing any kind of performance driving I have no time to look at gauges.

That being said, I hit limiter in 4th then shifted to 5th and accelerated a little bit longer before braking. 115 perhaps?

I hit 114 (according to the G-Tech graph) before lifting as the Cops lights turned on. He passed me, turned around and gave me a ticket. He definitely didn't have radar or I'm pretty sure I would have gone to jail.

I took a look for the actual graph (interesting because I have it superimposed against one from my mother's kick *** 99 Vette) but I couldn't find it. Might post it later...

112mph whilst it still had the Jap speed limiter fitted, GPS verified 125mph after de-limiting it, this was on an olde english "highway" which are generally not the smoothest or straightest of roads, plus there's waaaay too much traffic.

But it was fun, just that once.

120ish in current Miata
120ish in CSP Miata
95 in the 02 SE
100ish in first Miata

GSXR1000 160 on the 280 from San Jose to San Francisco. That is as fast as I was willing to ride, and that is when I lost the Ducati that was in front of me.

Are you ******* high? What the hell is all that, it made no sense to me.

Im 20, happily married with no children, grew up privileged, been deployed over seas in Kuwait and Kandahar as an aerial transporter, and now a reservist in the USAF and working as a vinyl specialist at a sign and design shop.

FYI... I dont even know what club roadster is, so... fail. Next time check your facts before making *** hat statements that damage your own integrity, instead of sniffing that powder and taking a hit. Douche.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that *you* are the one your mother should have swallowed.
