Outside of things going up in price, Im not really effected yet. I was kind of planning on a job change soon, but this has kind of done away with that. No way Im going to risk quitting now, and not be able to find another job. I do expect to soon feel some of the effects of this major issue. Im affraid this is going to be a long term thing to deal with. I dont see how throwing money at a money problem solves it. Your just throwing money our government and our people dont have, back at the people, who are paying for it anyway... seems a bit *** backwards to me.

I do know a few people who are suffering from this though, its going to be rough times for a while I fear.

i just recently finished school and should have had a job with audi by now

it's kind of making me want to go back to school (i already have a bachelors) or find something else that will be more consistent for the time being. i'm supposed to be guaranteed a job with audi, but i am only going to wait so long.

I am in college and recently started investing after the huge decline in the market during October. The company i work for deals with a lot of tourism stuff so that's obviously down and I have no guarantee about a job in the coming weeks. Just means I'll focus more on school.

Thanks for reminding me of my pain in my one escape from reality. The economy sucks great big billiard *****. I just wish the news would quit telling people how bad it is. There is a huge segment of society that is in no different position now than 2 years ago. Same job, same wages, etc. but they've been scared off of spending.

Do you work with any of the local pool leagues, there are a few in your area. I own the franchise of the APA here in Virginia Beach and we have teamed up with local billiards retailers and it has been beneficial to both of us. I have searched:
American Poolplayers Association - World's Largest Pool League and found there local website:
Welcome
Hope that can help you out!

I don't participate in this recession Malarkey. My company is doing so well I just got another huge performance bonus.

Sorry to all that are losing their *** from this **** and I'm also sorry its only going to get worse. It still blows my mind WHY business is so good for me, but we supply equipment and services some businesses require to keep the doors open.. The odd part is the businesses we service aren't even remotely close to something *ANYBODY* in this country "Needs" yet one of our largest clients is now the top profiting company in the States right now.

Yeah mine are still maxed, but similar jobs are low enough that I'd have made sergeant by now. That's the really frustrating thing.

The company I worked or laid off around 20 people in a 4 day span. I was included in the bunch. The lay-off included machine designers like myself, sales, floor workers and all other branches of the company.
Lame. Though now I draw unemployment and all is grand.

Thank god the medical field never sleeps. We are actually still expanding even during all of this mess. I dont have much fear of being fired (since Im probably the hardest working **** there) but do fear I will get sick of their bullshit and quit in a rage, and then be out of a job for over a year like I was before getting hired here.

i'm an industrial designer/design engineer. economy has hit my company hard, but i have reassurances that i am too valuable to let go. i started a department when i started here over 2 years ago. $0 in sales. this year my department will clear $35m. i guaranteed profitablilty in 3 years and accomplished that last year. this year is just proving that, despite my guys doing more with less resources. oh, i have also been under budget 28 straight months. i can't say that about our larger, established sister department.

they also know our biggest competitor is about 90 miles away and that company would looooove to draw me away.

it's not so much about making good pay and bonuses, though i do, it's about being so invaluable to the company that they can't afford to lose you.

The first one ranges from soul-crushingly boring to very exciting depending on where you are and what the mission is. The second is pretty much just what I think will be a good career move, since fewer people meet the qualifications and/or are willing to subject themselves to some of the things that come with the territory. So it goes without saying that the promotion points are lower for the second job... too bad I won't be able to claim it as my primary MOS until 2010 at the earliest.

Edit - That is Arabic in my avatar, and in a few others also..

The button is an "EASY" button (ala Staples), Soulja Boy is saying "YOUUUUUUU!", and the plain text says "Word to your mother".
