It will give me time to build the car and I have enough cash set aside to tune it, and get in one track day or so.
my luck is awesome.
I just wanted to share with the group that even though I'm a bitch, and losing my job, I'm actually going to build the car...against all odds of course.

I have nothing. I might end up just working for myself. I need a partner though; someone who doesn't look like a child so I can actually get a contract.

I review and instruct how to create "natural hazard mitigation plans" for states, local jurisdictions, and Tribal Nations for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Pre-Disaster Migitation Grant Program, the Nation Flood Insurance Program, and do a few other less notable things. I'm overly specialized in a field that doesn't regard proficiency in hiring practices.
For the 3rd time in my career I'm expect to train someone with no experience ina position I applied for. Too bad I'm not a veteran...I might have a job next month.
I'm probably going to be bartending or selling wine after I take a couple weeks off. I haven't really been home since Katrina. Also, my roommate is getting married soon, so I have to find another place to live...I doubt my unemployment benefits will work for leasing a new apartment.

That sucks. Hope you land on your feet quick. But if you fall on hard times you know that the majority of the ******* here will buy all your turbo bits at 50% your cost!

and you'll still have time to bartend. w00t. g'luck man. getting a new apt w/ no employment is a BIATCH.

Yeah, back in February the same **** went down. I have a ton of money saved up of course, and some budgetted for unimportant **** like the miata. Hell, I'm even thinking about buying a 64" TV this week. I know I can make bills and rent, it just won't be doing something I enjoy.
Is there maybe a fit at one of the big infrastructure/enviro/remediation outfits like TetraTech or Shaw? They do big-time consulting and they have offices in almost every decent city in the country. Just a thought - I have a friend who's worked for both.
**** you, come to Atlanta. Already gotta shop here
Plus local access to Road Atlanta, Atlanta Dragway, several dynos, SunBelt, etc etc
Atlanta Motor Speedway ain't too far neither.
And it's pretty and not cold.

DO IT!
It's hard but there's nothing like telling your boss to **** off and not get fired over it.
PS, I'm good at negotiating contracts. It's what I do
