so I'm going to the DENTIST
As the title states I am going to the dentist. It has been about 5 years and everything has been good, no pain or anything, but the other day part of one of my fillings fell out and I keep getting food stuck in there. I called into their office this morning and they said they could get me in at 2:00. I knew I didn't want to go today so I made an appointment for Friday at 8:30am. I know I have cavities and just am hoping I don't need a root canal or a crown or something. I haven't ever needed anything that major before and have heard the root canal can be especially painful. I don't know about you guys, but to me there is nothing worse than going to the Dentist. I am like 5 year old kid again only now my parents won't be there to keep me from running out the door when my name is called. I am dreading this. What do you guys think about the dentist?

Root canal isn't painful, annoying and time consuming yes. Endodontic therapy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. You'll need a crown after having it done, most dentists now can build your porcelain crown while you wait. Although it may still require 2 appointmets.
Other than the needle a good dentist shouldn't cause you any pain during the procedure. Try to force yourself to relax and go to a happy place in you head. Only pussies are afraid of the dentist. Get all your **** fixed, then go once a year. Since having a few issues fixed from a neglected youth I've not had so much as a cavity in over 10 years. Preventative maintenance FTW!

Hmmm.
I'm trying to remember when I was last at a dentist. I remember physically being there, but for the life of me I can't remember when. It's been at least ten years. That much I know simply because it was in Florida, and I left FL in mid '99 when I got the job with Harris.
And I don't recall any busty redheads. Maybe I was going to the wrong dentist...
I do remember that when I was younger (early '80s), the dentist had a Pac-Man machine in the waiting room that was set to free play. Beat the hell out of a fish tank.

2 of the only things I fear (besides Hustler) is the dentist, and needles. I havent been to the dentist in probably 6-8 years, which was when I got my braces off. Ive had 4 fillings in my life, but in the last 6-8 years, no real problems. Im sure they would probably find something that "needed to be fixed", but I will probably be fine with those "problems" as long as I keep brushings and flossing. I do have one wisdom tooth popping out, the other 3 are lagging, and hopefully arent impacted so they will come on out. If they all come out and dont pose a problem, I will let them stay for as long as I can. People did fine with them their entire lives only 30-40 years ago.

You gotta go to the dentist every 6 months you retards. Your teeth not hurting are not a sign of anything. If you do experience pain its already too late.
If you dont have insurance, 100 bucks is all it costs for a cleaning and an xray. I'm sure 90% of you can sacrifice one weekend of AutoX every 6 months to retain your teeth into your old age.

Dentistry is all about catching things early/preventative maintenance. Most cavities don't hurt, however once it goes into the nerve, you'll know it and will likely need a root canal. I'd prefer a filling rather than a RCT anyday.
