Someone Stole my CAT
I believe its for their palladium and platinum content. Basically, the cat is just a cheap source of precious metals.
These people come by my dad's shop all the time, busting his ***** for old cats and any other scrap. They don't take aftermarket cats and they pay on a scale for oem cats. They usually have a palm pilot, and if you tell them what cat you have, they'll look up how much they'll give you for it on the palm.
For instance, one of them showed up when I was replacing my miata's cat with a test pipe. He bought an old cat from my dad, don't remember what it was, but it was $50. So I asked him to buy my cat too, and after he looked it up he told me $10.
I would suspect that some of these larger-sized, older cats (like what was in Loki's runner) have a high platinum content. And the theives know that. Plus, an SUV is easy to crawl under.

******* junkies, the government should just round them all up and take them to the middle of nowhere and put a bullet in each and every one of them.
We had the cats stolen off all the cars in our parking lot before. They brought jacks and a torch, cut them all off. I am talking about 30-40 cars. We don't leave any cars outside at night for that reason.
Saw another show about the tent city prison in Arizona. The prisoners were getting a ton of extra time tacked on their sentence for smuggling a few cigs worth of tobaco in there. What a bunch of dumb asses...
