I don't feel so guilty for asking what boost level are you running?
If you going to compare them directly, let's compare it psi for psi.
Stephanie
We can run up to 15PSI on 93 octane or higher non-intercooled. We only need to run 10PSI to make 171 WHP on 91 octane with no timing retard. 10 PSI is also our magic number for CARB. I agree, no reason for you to feel guilty about those numbers, you did the best you could.

One side of this argument will never run out of hot air to blow.

It's a shocking revelation that doubling the boost adds 30hp. I would not have suspected that at all!

This technology was also brought to market on other icons of automotive innovation such as the Chevrolet Blazer...which leaves you completely stranded when the single injector fails.

GM has had some really great ideas and some bad ones. TBI too me is sort of the result of carb people going to EFI.

"We really dont want to do 6 or 8 of these damned things, they are epensive. Plus we dont have an intake setup for them yet. But we can bolt this POS here onto damn near any 4150 style intake!"

Lots of the TRD supercharged Tacomas/4 Runners do too. TRD sells a complete kit.

Tom bragging about making 170whp at 10psi makes me lol so hard. I really want to comment on how the 1.6 Rotrex prototype is making like ~155-160whp at 5-6psi.

my 1.6L is making 165rwhp (dyno dynamics) at 9psi, on a $175 turboz.

Yeah, but with all that turbo lag, you're missing out on the low-end torque and instant throttle response superchargers provide.

Is anyone else interested in seeing a few more setups with a coldside 45 or 62 and a 3071? Puley the blower for about 8 psi and watch the 3071 act like a 2560. I wonder if the blower would become a restriction? On one hand I doubt it considering that with a PD blower it will just get better filling on the inlet side, but I am not sure.

Funny stuff on blowers lately. I saw a traditional centrifugal setup for a bit more $ than a Rotrex kit off Kraftwerks. They claimed 205 crank HP while making 165WHP, and they ran 10 psi to get it as well IIRC. If these cars have an 18% driveline loss I will be VERY surprised. My guess is more like 12% with a Torsen.
