there is metal out there with clean vocals, but I'm the opposite and can't stand most of that. You like what you like though, to each their own on that one.

Quite possibly my favorite darkest hour song. Read the lyrics while you listen to it, because the lyrics are quite inspirational actually (unlike a lot of metal).

And to reflect is to regret
Throwing it all away
And apathy my one way street
It took so much from me
Separated by this divide I created through my fears
And in your tears you tried to show
Blind eyes and tell deaf ears

If we can make it through the landslide standing
We'll lift each other up to see the bliss on the horizon
Been looking in from the outside lately
I've seen who I used to be and it's not me

And we can keep healing
And we can keep holding on

I just want to take you where our time won't waste anymore
Through the mountains on the water we'll stay engulfed in one another
And when I can wake up to see the sunrise in you eyes
then we'll finally be free and I'll know I've made it home

So lets go out west and bask in the overcast
And walking through the rain we'll see the beauty in life again

life again

And to reflect is to regret
Throwing it all away
And apathy my one way street
It took so much from me
Separated by this divide I created through my fears
And in your tears you tired to show
Blind eyes and tell deaf ears

We can keep healing

All alone

We can keep holding on

Another one for Scott, this one has a few sections in it that aren't exactly screaming. Another one of my favorite songs, from my favorite band. \m/

These solemn words whispered in a haze
could you even see me standing there
all wrapped up in insecurities that
wont stop spilling out all over me

and in your eyes I see so much more
than that place you always go back to
you can pull yourself away from
that face that constantly haunts you

a graceful approach that you carry on
and carry yourself in such a way
that could never be recreated

and in your eyes I see so much more
than that place you always go back to
you can pull yourself away from
that face that constantly haunts you

we´re in too deep, go back to sleep
if this feels to synthetic then its all be a dream
calling on our contracts
controlled contained under pressure

so fall forward into me and let it all pour out
you owe this to yourself, and theres only one way out

so rest your head and close your eyes
just one more step till we´re over the edge

Slipknot, Korn, Manson,

However, Pantera/Metallica always goes hard. sick of it all, snot, misfits, all great bands - but all more punkrock than metal, imo. Do we have a punkrock thread? I love punkrock, one of my favorite genres and I'd love to contribute.

no, we dont. I mainly listening to punk myself, but I like thrashy stuff and that makes me like fast metal. I really want to like metal, I like heavy stuff, but I cant stand the vocals whatsoever. As a frame of reference, I was listening to the Bee Gees greatest hits this morning on the way to work, and I plan to listen to Drowning Pool on the way home.

i wouldn't categorize soia or snot into punk. snot had one song that was "punk", and it was making fun of mr. brett. snot was more nu-metal and SOIA is "hardcore".

Snot. One of those bands I find it hard to categorize.

Misfits? Bitch really? That's punk.

One of the few American metal bands that I like. Sort of melodic/black metal.

Amazing band... We are Playing with these guys in August...

The goblin in the video, is the old vocalist... he quit being a singer so he could be the Band Mascot Fulltime. He is in Full makeup and costume at every show, just running around the stage goblining **** up. lol

yes, i definitely agree that its annoying... i dont even like the band. lool But as a drummer, i can definitely appreciate the skill and precision it takes to be able to play at those speeds. lol
HOWEVER.... i am quite aware, that they could quite possibly have used triggers, or Effect enhancement in the recording process. I will never "Fake" it. I straight up mic my drums, and record them raw. My setup sounds so good, that i need no digital enhancement at all. haha

Some doomy doom doom of maximum doom. His other thing Lurker of Chalice is good too...

A more experimental/noise pair of Norwegians...

Something more technical...

Do Lightning Bolt count as metal enough?
