I don't think he'd done anything extraordinary for anyone else either...he does have a Christmas ornament of the image of Mau Se Tung hanging on his tree, and a depiction of Mount Rushmore with his effigy included.

i dont understand why people want me to let others willingly give themselves cancer without having to pony up for the future additional medical bills associated with cancer because they said, "i dont need insurance" and ended up in the hospital sucking money from the general public anyway...

whatever happened to "you are responsible for your own actions" or "pay to play"?

Maybe the tax hike should be revised to preclude people with $10,000,000 in health coverage from paying this tax?

So let me get this straight, the republicans:
support a company's ability to cover-up violent rape through private arbitration
against regulating financial processes responsible for the current recession
do no believe healthcare is a fundemental human right or should recieve a budget line-item

seriously? You're going to pay for healthcare either through a budget or through reimbursement at some level. My country died.

No coverage? No treatment.

Pay to play ≠ my taxes funding others care.

Thank you captain obvious.

I am not for letting people die mercilessly.

I was merely trying to point out the irony of someone who supports government run healthcare using the phrases ""you are responsible for your own actions" or "pay to play"". To me, those phrases equate to taking care of your own ****.

Would you be ok with a 20% "fee" on track days to assist in paying for HC? After all, driving on a track at speed gives you a much greater chance of being injured...

So, only things that may cause cancer you are cool with having a fee/tax for?

What about extra taxes on things like liquor (liver problems, etc)?

Of course it sucks...more reason to make healthcare a line item with a funding mechanism.

I actually really dont care about the tax, but the requirement of the tax to pay for a shitty health care system thats going to cost everyone more money in a bad economy is dumb.

What else do you expect from a debate on abortion, Obama's Waterloo, welfare, imigration, socialism, Canada, and a void on discussion a regulation option? I'm not surprised this bill won't pass because the Senate and House are too busy making deals to stay marketable to a population which sees issues in terms of Maury Pauvich and Jerry Springer.

Its easy for me to look back to 5-years ago when I had no job, lived in a ******* car for 2-months, and be thankful for social services that cost me money today. Too bad Congress exploits rather than consider.

What about an extra tax on fatty foods/Mc D's that contribute to obesity which leads to other health problems, liquor/beer as already mentioned, are we now going to FORCE people to vaccinate children for things...I mean after all they might get sick, playing sports leads to injuries.. pee-wee football tax here we come. Get where I'm going with this, if not I can keep going.
