Default A thread where I need help to make up my mind about something I won't even do. AGAIN!

I'm back in the daily driver market, still looking for an MSP or p5. Can anyone think of anything in my price range that's equally cool?

I have not ruled out dumping say $17k cash on an ms3, and financing the rest. I want something I know will make it from a to b.

94-95 MB E320. Reliable, durable, comfortable, quick, quiet, strong, good for a couple hundred thouand miles. 2 of the best cars I've owned were an E class sedan and an E class wagon, both 6 cylinders.

Just do NOT get the E420. It'll break as much as your VW. Mine is ALWAYS in the shop.

I need a 4-door and probably an automatic. I've been thinking about $4k old nissan or toyota truck too. What kinda mpg do you get? Decent on road trips?

I think a protege is the only option. They're fairly reliable, right?

nissan 240sx(not molested) stock ones that haven't been abused are SUPER reliable, toyota trucks are reliable and it's fun to have them to go off roading once in a while, if you're lucky a 2.5rs impreza(the 2 or 4 door ones), a non tt 300zx, bmw 325,28,30 if you're lucky...

get a honda prelude...they look really nice and the interior is awesome.

acura integra 4 door, if you need a 4 door.

I bought a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis LS for less than $7000. Is it cool? Hell no. Is it reliable? It would have been dead reliable if I would have just changed the T-Stat like I was thinking.

But other than that, there's a reason cops and taxis are Crown Vics (Grand Marquis) - they last forever.

Since I live near three Sun Citys (retirement communities), my beater car blends right in.

My g/f got her '99 1.6L Protege with 25k miles for $5800. It's great, super reliable and gets like 29-33 mpg.

Something we'll agree on. Fine car. Plenty of them in my family (Crown Vic/Towncar/Marquis).

I was looking for a car for my wife a few months ago. I had about the same price range but couldn't find anything used that seemed really reliable so we ended up financing a mazda3 5 door. It has the best automatic transmission of any cars we test drove. I can't say it is as fun as the miata but I don't mind driving it at all. $17,500 for a new car that you know is going to last isn't a bad idea.
