^For the MZR engine:
blown turbos
all manner of gasket/seals leaking
undiagnosable intermittent power loss issues requiring a reflash
security system computer incompatibility with engine computer
**** for gas mileage

For the MS6:
broken rear differential
broken axles
all manner of broken suspension pieces
transmission mount
CLUTCH SUCKS BIG HAIRY WALRUS BALLZ

Most guys see about 220whp/230ftlbs bone stock. The thing falls flat on it's face after 5k. This is a pretty good example of a stock MS6 power curve although his car show a bit more power.
http://forum.mazda6club.com/index.ph...68347&hl=stock Right when the power gets good, it just stops pulling. The good news is that there's almost a full harness PnP piggyback ready to go. All you need to hit 300whp is to pull fuel starting at about 4k. In a few years when it's out of warranty, the piggy and a Devils own should make STI's no problem.

hustler, i was looking for a car like you are describing. if you are in that range, i suggest looking at the IS300. if you want an auto, personality, and something different, look for the is 300 wagon. i wish we had bought the wagon we test drove over the pilot we bought. it was a blast to drive.

sporty, excellent design, reliable, dead-nuts reliable, nice features,too...and RWD.

Forester XT. *****, reliability, utility, lesbo appeal. And when you finally do decide to mod it, plenty of mods available.

MS3 has had motor mounts failure. IIRC they issued a TSB in japan and will probably do so here in the US

Aaaahhhhh! Dammit man, go to one of the protege boards and do some searching. I had an auto P5 for four years and beat the **** out of it daily. Was still working when I got rid of it.

Do you really think another board is gonna put up him?

Hustlers intro to the P5 board...
Hi, I'm a new thinking about getting a P5, I almost had a turbo miata but couldn't make up my mind, then when I did I didn't know how much boost to run. I asked the people on my other board, where I am one of the senior members and practically a mod and they told me to come here for advice.

So do you guys think an automatic is better then standard?

The hard part for me in driving a standard is deciding what gear to use... do they come in a 3spd?
I only have 17K burning a hole in my pocket, but only want to spend about $1700, so I have enough left over for another car...

my accord may be boring, but it gets the job done and gets decent mileage. Remember, the miata is the fun car.
