They made a Top Gear Australia. It was a good car show but a bad Top Gear, if that makes sense?

Agreed... can't say I was ever a fan of his Tonight Show snoozefest, but I like him as a car guy. And whatever happened to Adam Carolla's involvement?

On Leno...I have to agree. As for Carolla, thank GOD he doesn't have anything to do with it, can't stand that guy.

the laugh into 9 sec annoyed me enough that I could not finish watching it.

Top gear has grown past the cars into a story of the joy of motoring with our 3 friends. The problem is not the cars, nor the reviews of them, but the fact that we dont want to see people replace our friends that get us just as we get them.

The BBC is not paid by advertisers. History channel/discovery networks is. And in the end that is all that matters. Every car will get a positive review, and in fact they will be so terrified of offending someone and thereby scaring off advertisers that they will be unable to be as brash as the U.K. version.

Carrolla would have been good actually. I can't stand Clarkson to be honest, but a self riotous egotistical ***** is perfect for that show. And Carrolla would have fit that to the letter (as well as being not only a car guy, but a vintage japanese car guy).

I'll be interested to see where it goes and hoping for the best. But not really expecting much.

(and lest my location give the wrong impression, I am a US expat from New Orleans, so not USA bashing)

Sucks that Carolla is out, and it's funny, because a few months ago it looked like he was in and Foust was out.

If any of you guys aren't regularly listening to Carolla's CarCast, you're missing out on some good stuff. Subscribe to his podcast, and check out the video that usually follows each one within a few days

The only reason it sucks is because I'm not one of the hosts. =P
