STAY AWAY from the xc90 with a t6 engine (transmission failure). All other engine and drive combo is great.

I heard that the 4L V8 in those is actually developed by Yamaha and that its essentially the same architecture as the old SHO Taurus V6, just with 2 more cylinders. If that's true, I want that engine. Do you know anything about that?

I love old Volvos, but could never buy anything newish due to the absurd depriciation... Jag's don't even lose their value as much as a Volvo. I would love a late 90's 240T Wagon with a few little mods. I've been a member of TurboBricks for years and know that 200whp is just a few minor bolt-ons away. Lot's of guys have no trouble making 250whp on a very stock'ish 240 Volvo.

But, this thing has gotta be by 100% DD for at least 3-4 years. It's gotta be dead reliable and won't be modded... well, maybe an intake or something.

The wife and I were at a barbecue yesterday afternoon and there was a Honda Oddessey out front, so we found the owner and went to look at it... and discovered that it would be the ultimate vehicle, and that we're not getting one. Her MS6 has done everything we've needed it to for 2 years, and lacked for nothing. Maybe in 5 years, I'll sing a different tune, but for now, no.

I've been checking out 4Runners like crazy. V6, 2WD, SR5trim, no sunroof, white/black/darkgrey, under 50k, under $20k... a little harder than I thought. The wife and I are going down to my dealership after work today so she can look/drive one. We'll see how willing they are to deal on their CPO'd ones.
