It's fun to hold these guys in your hands.

I've got 5 of these around the house right now. Females are big:

I've got one of those big plastic compost bins. Black Widows seem to find their way in there.

Until you make fun of their little wings and they get angry. But yeah- having them try to dig between your fingers is funky.

A few years ago I was chilling on my couch watching a movie with a friend when suddently he jumped up and turned on the lights. I turned around and right behind my head was one of these, about 5 inches long. Mexican house centipede.

Then I caught it in a cup, that centipede was so goddamn fast. Scared the **** out of me. After I let it out I googled that bitch and found it was basically harmless, still a crazy looking thing to see contrasting on your white wall.

Since this thread morphed to what's in your house, I caught a black rat snake baby last weekend, kept it in a big paint bucket with a top on it and fed it a pinky 2 days ago. My wife checks on it yesterday and left the lid "a bit open so it could get air" and now it's gone. In the living room somewhere. I think it probably went down an AC vent. Hopefully it'll resurface when it gets hungry. My wife isn't afraid of snakes but is a bit freaked out that one is somewhere in the house.

About 14 inches long.

Any ideas how to find this bitch? I'm thinking of buying a mouse and putting it in a cage in the middle of the living room.

no

it's what's at your office:

Alice in Wonderland is at my office.

The caterpillar was about the size of my index finger. The rainbow shroom was huge.

for scale:

Here is a closer view of the caterpillar:

Thats a Prometheus Moth caterpillar. I have raised those from eggs to adults. The adults are among the largest north american moth species.
