I'm laid off essentially in May, pending the next time there's real work and it could be an indefinite lay-off. So, lets say I had to sell my nice miata in a pinch, quick. What should I expect to get for all this crap:
EFI:
MSpnp
knocksense
550cc injectors
lc-1
awesome tune
motor:
1.9l built 99 motor
supertech pistons
CAT/Probe rods
3-angle valve job
coolant reroute
turbo:
begi s3
#3 intercooler
3" exhaust
suspension:
RB front bar, stock rear
6-speed
3.63 lsd rear end
poly engine and rear-end mounts
spec s3 clutch
new bearings all around (5k miles old)
new tie rods
sport brakes
wilwood prop valve
tein flex twin tubers with 550/350 springs
15x8 nickel 6ul w/ 225 rs-2
15x9 bronze 6ul w/ 225 nt-01
interior:
momo wheel with slim quick-release hub
2 sparco sprint seats
2 simspon 6-point harnesses
single diagonal roll bar
greddy and omori gauges, WBO2 gauge
I'm adding up #'s right now and trying to see how much I can actually get for the car for when the time comes. I'm thinking $12k is a reasonable expectation...but not much higher. I'm still toying with the idea of living in it when this reality kicks me in the face.

1991 car

there's a dent behind the driver door that can get a paintless repair. Its probably a 7/10 on the body. It has a few waves, dings, and nicks, but its a Texas car and I've been over every square inch of the car.

To get any realistic bit of your money back, you will want to part out.
Get another job. If you end up needing to sell a car, sell the other one. Keep this one as is.

I agree with Ben. Selling it as is with all the mods, rims, etc will probably net you about 8K. Parting it out and returning it to stock can get you 12K.
If you want to drive it up here, I'll give you 4K and a 1991 BRG in good shape and low miles.

because the subaru needs a trans the the ugly miata would get me no cash. The green car will bring in substantially more. I'm also toying with the idea of selling it to my sister for the value of her MSM. That way I could still see it rape and spit on the track.

or I could just stay in the miata crew and let you polish my ding-dong when you're not felching pre-op trannies and chang chang truckers, ------.
That's the spirit. Everybody wins.
And then proceed to keep e-thuging all of us Miata driving ------s.
