A CPO 997 is going to be out of this price range, so I retract my previous recommendation. And so are the Merc AMG SL65 and the Jag XKR, which would have been my other recommendations.
Buy a Corvette.

Test drove some cars today
BMW 135i convertible. 45K miles, CPO, $26K
Porsche 997 carrerra S convertible. 40K miles, CPO, $65K
BMW was actually quite awesome. Very fun car. Quite powerful and handled the turns very nicely. Felt like a big fat turbo miata with a nicer interior. I was very very impressed. Not a Mazda RX8 for driving feel and instant ability to drive at 95%, but I felt very confident pushing the car. For $26K I thought it was a great deal. I liked it MUCH more than the automatic 335D that I drove before. Manual >>>> automatic.
Porsche was very cool as well. Closest thing to a racecar from the factory that I have driven. Engine sounded amazing, power was great, and the power curve felt similar to the bimmer. The steering and suspension was also great. Interior was kinda booring. I did not feel like it had $65K of value. Maybe that's because it felt like a modified car to start with. Quite raw. I was expecting more plush.

(PLACE HERE THE OVERUSED PICTURE OF THE SAWZALL INCIDENT THAT WON'T GO AWAY BUT SHOULD)
He made a mistake and he has learned from it. I think Fae should get a dollar every time someone brings that picture up again to cover future therapy. I have made mistakes and learned from them and hopefully I wont repeat them, and I don't like to be reminded of them daily. Mistakes make you better if you grow from it. Flora probably has. Lets use positive reinforcement and not show that pic again. Poor guy never gets to let it go.
On with the DD. In order to have a car that every time you see it it makes you gaga I think a vette is out. They are amazing cars with amazing numbers but they are not unique enough to fit that category. You need an exotic looking car with reliable power train. Perhaps a lightly modded vette might just fit in there but then it can get borderline rice. 911 turbos can be nice and oh so classic but get some wild color and some wheels, not the old man silver or grey. For another 20K on top of the 911T you can get 700hp crank.
NSX is great shape and rare but not sure on powertrain. Your budget leaves so many choices open - this is going to take a while.
PS - what do you do for work and how does it feel to be financially well covered ?? (I don't know myself)

Aww thanks for sticking up for me. You're a -----.
I don't mind being shown my "learning experiences". I'm still proud of myself for not knowing jack n getting stuff done.
I am a beltway bandit. To quote an ex GF, "Money is only a problem when you don't have it". So in short, life is still full of it's challenges nigz
I already have plenty of it. Once, a certain special girl asked me on our first date, "so, how big is your dick"
and i responded
"big enough to please myself with"
that is how i feel about my choice of cars too.

I'm always wondering what other miata gays do for a living.
Theres lots of people on here that make serious bank, and lots that are broked!ck trash.
When someone starts bringing up 50k cars like it aint no thang, I want to know what they're doing and if they can really afford it or are dumba$$es who just can't have money without spending it.

Well i guess it depends on your definition of "afford".
I have seen many people get a "baller" 50k/yr job and buy new 50k cars. They
Didnt die or go bankrupt so i guess they afforded it?
Back when i made like 70k less than i do now i think i actually had more "spending cash". Disposable income is a matter of lifestyle and debt.
