If you have already raised your kids to be jerks, it's too late to try to fix with that. The best you can hope for is a thin coat of veneer if you use those methods. I won't agree or disagree that hitting/yelling/slapping/spanking/etc. will or won't work, but if they are old enough to be jerks like those kids, it's too late to try to fix it with that.

Once your kids are old enough to think for themselves, "My way OR ELSE!" does nothing but accomplishes a very thin coat of veneer which disappears as soon as you aren't around. I am pretty confident that most of, if not all of, the posters in this thread know the exact type of kid I'm talking about - perfect angels when parents are around, nasty little SOBs when they aren't.

 

If I could do this, I would start a daycare center.

 

Horrible. What the hell is wrong with kids. I blame the parents mostly. Decency doesn't seem like something people could go through life and not pick up, but I guess it's not the case. We see unruly behavior from kids at the at the pool. It's not on the same level as the video, but it's still a complete lack of manners and respect. I think it's easier to not raise kids properly then to stay on top of them and instill values.

cuase you know the kids wont get home/private schooling, so the state is just making them stupider, which is a stupid. they should be required to take summer school and put on a school play.

you are totally right brother. my old lady runs a tight ship, my kids are not always perfect but most of their transgressions occur at home by way of arguing with each other. other than that they are very good in public and at school. we hold them responsible when they misbehave and they are disciplined accordingly.

 

oh and by the way....considering how bad those kids were i would love to see them AND their sorry parents dragged out to the square and caned in public...a stripe for every year of life they have had.

you know...it seems to be that only dirtbags reproduce. in a past life, i dealt with that particular crowd...all the "inner city" people. they leech off the system seem to reproduce like rabbits while many good hard-working decent folk either decide not to bring children to what they see as a screwed up world or could not conceive. if that continues would it not make society worse? i think so.

 

This is why i believe hitting kids in school is a requirement.

 

no...parents need to discipline their children and the government needs to stay the hell out of it unless there are clear signs of child abuse. it should not be the responsibility of the school or the government to discipline my children. children should be at their best behaviour in school and anywhere else they go. parents need to be held responsible for the misbehaviour of children, if we did, there would be far less little jerks running around causing trouble because they know nothing will happen to them.
