I know a bunch of you guys have dedicated daily drivers, or second cars, but who among us is nuts enough to have the turboed Miata as their primary mode of transportation?

My car was turboed in July '07 at 130,6xx, and it's going to cross the 143,000 mile mark this weekend. Currently at 142,8xx and I am driving 200 miles home tomorrow, then back again on Sunday.

 

i haven't driven my miata PERIOD in almost three months. :(

 

yeah mine is sitting in the garage after being molested by an angle grinder, but it WILL be my daily driver

 

Not turbo'd, but I do have nitrous and it's my DD. Last fall I would drive it home 260 miles, run the 1/8 mile 4-5 times, and drive back up sunday. Did that many times. Car is being turbod this summer and will remain my DD.

 

what happen to your twin-supercharger idea pats?

 

I put on over 15,000 miles a year for two and a half years, but since I got the GTI I keep it at school and keep the Miata 300 miles away at home.

I own several vehicles including a non turbo miata, but my turbo car is my daily driver.

Miata was my DD until I got a 2008 company work truck. That same week put Miata on jacks and called BEGi!! Finally got everything and will finish tomorrow (I hope) then it will be my daily driver again..(on weekends)

 

I will be putting at least 500 miles on the Miata this weekend.

 

Mine is my only car, so daily driver of course.

 

Mines my dd. Dont really put much mileage on it though, but I wouldnt be the least bit concerned about driving it anywhere. I trust it more than I do my chevy pickup which is 6 years newer and 30k less miles

 

My DD is my SC'd Miata since my turbo'd Miata doesn't have a top, windows, heater, wipers, etc. I'll probably pull the SC and go turbo with it in the near future though. I don't see any downside using a turbo as your DD.

 

Mine is my DD. It is always tricky starting a project friday night and hoping it will be done by monday morning.

 

My miata is too little, too rough, too sexy, but gets better gas mileage. I bet when I get the turbo motor in, I'll drive it until I can't afford tires anymore.

Mine's been relegated to DD services, as the OTM is less than functional. Still. Again. Been putting 65 miles on it every day, half very congested and half wide open. I rather enjoyed yesterday's top down ride home.

 

DD ~20K miles/year

 

10K miles in three years.....not my DD.
