Just student loan and house payment here. Cant wait to be rid of both, that would be a great feeling.

I have a relative in $40k debt on credit cards alone. cant understand how people do that.

I too have a mortgage w/o that pesky house... A bit less than a third of you. Hope to be in the OPs shoes one day, doubt it will be soon...

Congrats, OP!

God Damn Kenzo! I'm guessing you didn't go to Chico State (like me).

I've got $30k left on the house, but I'm in no hurry to pay that off.

A lifetime profession that I can't get out of even if I wanted to, since I'm too deep in it.

FAIL.

What you need is to get a full ride with the state TOPS program and THEN get a lucrative scholarship.

My university paid ME almost $4,000 per semester in excess financial aid (what was left over after paying my full tuition and books, supplies, etc.) to go there.

Well I didn't wanna get too personal... But at that kind of debt, that profession had better be 100k+ BARE minimum.

What field?

Yeah it was hard (i'm a teacher). I have been out of college for 4 years, I didnt work that first and when I did it was min-wage.

I paid around 35-40k dollars (Stu loan, and getting my current miata after selling my 92). Some of my friends have gone hardcore like me and are in their late twentys (like me) and out of debt with enough to put almost 1/4 of a houses worth as a down if they wanted to.

Some of my other friends, well you can lead a horse to water but they will use their CC to go by a bottle of water instead.

all I can say is thank God I followed my parents advice on:
1. 1 CC only for emergencies or use as a Debt card.
2. Live under my means (they bought a house about 12 years ago. Low fixed interest rate, and they bought well in their means.) No free freddy/fannie money.
3. SAVE

What I do?

Actually if things keep up like they are, we'll all be helping him repay his college debt. Cause you know, god forbid someone would have to, ha! Take responsibility for their own life...

Back on Topic.. I'm happy, the only debt I have is the lower right hand vehicle in my signature, and its 3/4 paid off. I'm not a home owner, though.
