I'm torn here, because on the one hand you're saying things that I accept as axiomatic, while on the other, you're causing me to question your judgement vis-a-vis coming here and starting a whole thread just to say "I know that if I post pictures of my car on this forum that something bad will happen." I don't really know you, so I don't want to pre-judge or come off as sounding too harsh, but if the problem is "Everywhere I go, no matter what I say, people make fun of me," then one should at least consider the possibility that "other people" are not necessarily the root cause of the dilemma*. I mean, you could be totally correct. If your build thread consists mostly of stretched tires, a $99 "racing seat," an ill-fitting aftermarket bumper, a headlight conversion that make it look like you have a broken headlight motor, and an aftermarket shift knob shaped like anything other than a big, veiny cock, then whatever you think will happen probably will happen. Frankly, I'm way too lazy to go over to ClubRoadster and e-stalk you to find out. I'd much rather just change your avatar to a My Little Pony, and then have another glass of moderately priced whiskey. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that you haven't done anything completely idiotic and are just thrashing about with the same sort of typical newbie mistakes that we all made at one point or another, and so long as you're not an asshat about it, you'll find a warm and receptive audience. It sounds like we'll never know. (* = Dammit, I still hate the word "dilemma." It always feels like it should be spelled with one M and one N, rather than two Ms. I don't know why, but I have always struggled with this.) |
No no Joe, his car is definitely the epitome of retardation. You haven't mis-judged him there at all actually.

Just skimmed this:
Matt's Drift Car Miata Build - ClubRoadster.net I dont get it. Nobody here is going to give you shit for being 16 and having an old rusty Miata. I would give you shit for wanting to be a drifter, but most of CRnet is driftards, so I have no idea why they would give you shit. You shouldnt care what they think. The average IQ over there is probably 80. |

So, wait... Are you complaining about ClubRoadster, or MiataTurbo, or both?

If it takes you 20 years to finish a Miata you're doing something wrong.

What I'm seeing here:
Matt has a Miata. He likes it and is excited, but does not have friends local that share his enthusiasm for the car so he does what most kids his age do these days, turn to TEH INTERNETZ! He likes drifting, stance, and all the typical kiddie car fads, so his google image search leads him to Clubroadster. Unbeknownst to Matt, he did not receive the warm welcome he expected. Even though 75% of the members there have the exact same car as the one he wants to build (SlammedonracelandsXXRgaragevarylipdildoshiftknobl ookatallthesestickers!) the more senior posters do not like the reputation and stigma that comes with it so they shit on him. Banned, new account, shit on, wash, rinse, repeat. Matt then gets the recommendation to join MT as a joke, because we are so much more accepting of his goals and desires for the car. He gets notflamed due to the kinder, gentler way we are handling new members in the meet and greet, and he sticks around because he doesn't get thrashed, although a few eggplants were seen. But he still wants to fit in at CR! Maybe if I post pictures they'll respect me! No, Matt. They won't. Not unless you do something really amazing with you're Miata to prove everyone wrong. Pretty close? It's great that you're enthusiastic about your car. People have much more respect for a fast car with a fast driver than a fast looking car driven by someone with their head up their ass. If you decide to give up on the silly faddish "mods" and get serious about a great performing car, we'd be glad to have you. Just quit whining like a 16 year old. |

Why did you ban him? He wasn't being combative.
"He's just a boy." [/Slingblade] |
There was no reason to ban him...
...yet. |
There shouldnt be a reason why you should ban me. Im not trying to cause any problems on this forum. Yeah I know you guys bust my chops and amuse yourself on my stupid acts. So whats the problem?
|
It's a quality control issue ;)
|
There's no problem.
That's why you're still not banned. ..yet |

(Probably this weekend). -Paint the door, paint the fender, put back on the car. -Fix the rust thats on the passenger floor. -Put the coils on. -Take off driver fender, fix that dent, paint it and back on the car. -Get a steering wheel, going to look at this weekend from a friend who has one with the hub and everything ready to go. -Find a bucket to go in (maybe a replica) unless I find a good deal. -Weld the diff. -New Soft Top or a Hard Top (if im lucky) -Put in the roll cage once I get it for xmas (painting gold) -Paint the rest of the car . -Fix ebrake also. Then all of the maintence stuff and get it inspected. That should all be done by the summer time or even earlier since its going fast now. Its all about time and patience and money like I said. If I get used stuff, I have the chances of braking the car or smashing into the walls and stuff. Though seats shouldnt be an issue and if I can sell the stuff original parts I can make my money back also. So its almost a win win situation. Oh yeah I forgot. Seat time and learning how my car performs and reacts. |
Performing?
You mean figure skating? |
