Gentlemen, we've become Savages. In a remarkable bit of irony, we've become the thing we hate; ClubChoadster. Hear me out;

-Through careful breeding we've (actually, *you guys*) have developed the perfect strain of performance car, a formula which generally involves a ball bearing turbo on a custom hot side, built 1.8, running megasquirt and rolling on 6UL's, frequently on a road race course. This is a very good thing, except that it's become an anvil upon which to hammer those who deviate from the plan. On ClubFrottage it's a Slammed NA with a GV lip, Ricelands, XXRs and a fart can exhaust, used for hard parking while boasting of SuperDorifto accomplishments you've never actually done, and deviation is equally ridiculed. See any parallel?

-a small number of regular posters are allowed to exhibit their symptoms on just about every new poster. While there are certainly some douchebags who deserve abuse, the ratio of noob to hammering could also be compared to the mouthbreathers over at CR.

- in every successful society, including virtual ones, there is a patience and tolerance shown to Noobs and Groms, who are not inherently bad people, just inexperienced and in need of guidance. That's not to say that they're not slapped down quickly if they don't understand their "place" (cut somebody off a *second* time surfing and you'll get punched in the face, the first time you'll probably get schooled on etiquette) but again, that can be handled a bit more gently than has become the accepted norm.

Gentlemen, we are *not* savages. What has historically made MT.net not only different but also better than other forums is that we are, for the most part Grown Ups In Possession Of A Clue. If you want to be a douchebag to random strangers you should be encouraged to do so on ClubProlapse, that shit shouldn't fly around here. We're better than that, and better than this.

Doesnt seem like it though

dieselmiata 12-03-2013 12:44 PM

How would you know? You can't even drive, let alone drift.

And where do you get the audacity to question someone who HAS been professionally drifting for years?

I like it when you question a pro driver. Feels so good. Turns me on.

Seems like a moderate breeze turns you on sometimes...

concealer404 12-03-2013 01:09 PM

Depends on the day. I think i'm coming off my menstrual cycle, so i'm very aware of my nether region.

rleete 12-03-2013 01:15 PM

Menstrual cycle? Is it a V-twin?

seriously, drifting a miata is a dumb idea. It's only popular in the drift world because 1. it's a cheap rwd car 2. all the 240s have been totalled.

Right. And it's still not popular at a high level because it's a shitty drift car.

Braineack 12-03-2013 01:27 PM

ugh. i cant believe I'm discussing drifting for crying out loud...

concealer404 12-03-2013 01:31 PM

This is what happens when quality control slips. YOU MADE US THIS WAY.

Yeah, we've all got problems. My colon is swollen, my ass is crass, my anus is heinous.

*Pinky's words of wisdom*
Pinky's right. About everything.

sixshooter 12-03-2013 01:39 PM

The Miata is a terrible drift car for all of the reasons it is a good road racing car. It has a very low polar moment of inertia. Look it up. It makes it very difficult for even experienced professionals to drift it well. It is much more difficult to drift than an RX7 or a 240 or a GTO, etc.

You've failed to take into account the changes to the cars weight distribution by the installation of a retarded Domo keychain hanging below the rear bumper, which by virtue of it's two inch chain acts as a pendulum, making it easy to initiate Mad Drifto Angles. Also, there are significant aerodynamic improvements that can be made by gently nudging various body panels into fixed objects at 60-70 mph which most Grip Guys simply cannot comprehend.

Who is a professional drifter? Plus though cars have power beind them. I wouldve thought the miata would be a great platform for drifting. Im wrong again as usual. Plus a low hp car is good for me to learn in. Id kill myself in a car that has more then 350hp. You can say im a pussy but it would be a proven fact. Though it always goes like this: dont drive stupid, fast, all of that. That dont mean shit with cars like that, depends on driver, and experience and other stuff. I mean look at Paul Walker and Roger Rodas(which was a professional driver) still crashed and they both died

EunosMatt 12-03-2013 01:59 PM

Alright lets close this thread, as its getting to more and more stupid. As thread says "insert bs here"
