Really it isn't, but you should be targeting the upper half of the steel to ensure it falls. It is also a technique format of not waiting for it to fall that comes into play regarding speed. You see me taking 3 shots on steel plate 2, that is me shooting twice and trying to proceed almost immediately upon trigger pull to the next target only to have to swing back to try again (hate missing!!! )

Speed/accuracy are the rules of the game.

Yes.

I bought Two G22 15 round mags that specifically said "KCI" on the floor plate and you have to remove them from the magazine well with a ------- crowbar. Spent and hour with the belt sander and they still won't drop free, threw in the trash. Biggest waste of $20 ever.

Different retail company I bought two G17 33 round mags which don't say "KCI" on the bottom and they're ****. Work perfect with my G22 and Sub2k, best $30 I've spent on magazines. Consider an OEM Glock 33 rounder is like $50 for ONE....... Only Caveat to the 33 rounders is I had to file down some of the plastic inside the metal liner up top that wouldn't allow the follower to lock the slide open. They function flawlessly.

Hit the range this morning with my Savage .22... took about 10 mins to get sighted at 50yds. I was making 2-3" groups at 100yds, but had a solid 10-15kts of direct crosswind and it was gusty. I couldn't hold steady, but still wasn't bad with Remington bulk-pack hollow-points.

Also, my buddy brought his .308 with brand new suppressor. It's so quiet that even with full-power ammo, the cows were eating right next to the bench and not even flinching.

Crap. KelTec wants $40 freaking dollars shipped for a single magazine and 2 little rubber grip extensions for my PF9 which will be here Monday.

I found a place called 2Afirearmsdealer .com that seems pretty legit. They have the cheapest prices I could find on 10rd mags for my Savage .22... but they want $12 for shipping for 3 magazines? And they're out of stock on the KelTec stuff I need.

I've looked at about 20 places, and nobody has both the Savage stuff and Keltec stuff I need together. I'm going to end up spending $85 for 4 magazines and 2 little pieces of rubber and $30 of it will be shipping. FFFFF!!!

I'm almost tempted to go to the gunshow here in town tomorrow and see if I can find what I need there.

This is what's stopping me from picking up some of these Korean Glock magazines. I don't want to pay $10 for shipping on something that costs $17 and weighs less than a pound.

I went to the range today and shot a real gun for the 1st time! Shot my dads S&W .357, used 158 grain ammunition. It was fun. My brother (the Marine) shot very tight groups but I shot in the area I was aiming at more, despite the fact that my groups where not as tight.
I wish I knew of a range that isn't as busy, people I don't know with guns make me uneasy. One guy arrived with his pistol in his back pocket, no holster.

It should be here tomorrow... I'll try to put a few mags through it when I go get it. My FFL is at a range.

So I knuckled under and went to the New Orleans Gunshow today. Bought a spare mag and 2 grip extensions for the PF9. It worked out to be a few bucks cheaper than ordering from KT since I avoided the $15 shipping charge.

Also bought 200rds ($30) of Aguila .223 and my first PMAG ($14)... for the future. I figure if I grab a box or two of ammo a couple times a month when I spot some for cheap, I can slowly build up a supply.

What does everybody think about Wolf steel-case for plinking?

I've got some buddies who have hundreds or thousands of rounds in calibers they don't even have guns for. They keep up to speed and buy anything they come across when it's a good deal. When election time comes around, they plan to put a bunch of it up for sale when prices skyrocket and clean house.

Pretty much all I shoot for the following calibers:
  • 9mm
  • .40 S&W
  • .45 ACP
  • .223
  • 7.62x39
  • .308

I LOVE IT. I really wish they made some .38 special, .357 magnum and .44 magnum. Their approach to ammo would be perfect for revolvers.

I've shot some (maybe 200 rounds) of their .30 carbine but not enough to pass judgement.

I shoot only brass through my 10mm. I don't even *** with the Blazer series.

I attempt to feed all 3 of my ARs with TulAmmo.

The new carbine eats it up. 250 rounds Saturday and not a single feed/ejection/firing problem. That Nickle Boron coated bolt is effing badass! Pulled it out and wiped down with a dirty rag, looks like new!

My DPMS bull barrel eats up TulAmmo without issue. Have fired probably 2000 rounds total through it of the russian crap.

My Colt won't feed TulAmmo. Charge it and it'll chamber and fire the first, after cycling it just doesn't want to pickup the next one. Any flavor of brass ammo it eats like a fat guy eats cake, just doesn't like my russian crap. Probably 7500 rounds have cycled through that rifle since I bought it in 02, never a malfunction otherwise.

Haven't ever bought Wolf because it's always the same price as brass ammo in stores in stores and higher than retail at gun shows. Plus I'm retarded enough to reload my own hulls so it's more "cost effective" to crawl around on the ground when I'm done collecting up brass like an idiot.

WTF Sam? I've NEVER seen anyone selling PF9 magazines at a show. :(

Why don't you make some contraption that corrals your brass as its ejected?

For an AR that's easy.

Semi-auto pistola.. Not so much. My GD Keltecs throw the ---- EVERYWHERE while the AR's will put them in a neat little pile behind me to the right...

Edit: I effing hate those revolver pistol grips on AR platform rifles. They look like herpes..

Try shooting an SKS. They throw brass seemingly at random. I've had guys on my left complain about brass coming their way, and it ejects to the right! I've even been hit in the face a couple of times.

Looking for honest no BS opinions on this potential used rifle purchase. Any questions I should be asking (I don't know Jack about ARs)?:

Colt manufactured A1 upper on an Armalite lower receiver. Great condition, never any failures, breakages, or other problems. Comes with soft carry case, original bayonet, 2 magpul magazines, one easymag (all 3 are 30 round capacity), a .22lr conversion drop-in bolt, one 27 round magazine for the .22lr, and 30 rounds of 5.56x45 ammunition. Great classic/retro look with the reliability and accuracy of Colt manufacturing.

$800

Something like this?

I still have the green triangle handguards somewhere. Considering today's prices, I don't think that's bad.. You could build a New generic branded one for about the same price but I think the old A1's have some character to them. I've thought about refinishing mine but always decide against it because of the character.

Consider that drop-in .22lr bolt with magazine will run you about $200, magpul magazines are 13-20 depending on where you buy..
