I'm also interested in this answer. Looks like they have stuff in stock and a wide variety too. I'm thinking about picking up a 6.8.

After my order of a DPMS upper got pushed back to May, I decided to try these guys out. Placed an order for an upper and didn't receive any info on it being backordered or out of stock. We will see if it actually ships.

As a guy looking to get a CCW permit soon, what do you think of one of these?

Sig Sauer 250C9B P250 Compact 9mm 3.9" 15+1 Black Synthetic $427.00 SHIPS FREE

It's sexy, it's a sig, it's somewhat compact - think i could conceal it? I'm 6'0 tall, 175lbs, very big hands. I also live somewhere that it would be quite a trip (2.5 hours) to go find one of these to hold before buying, so online purchase is my go to method for guns.

We used to have one of those in the shop that was used... Decent for the money.

I have never shot but have held the P250C. What other pistols have you fired that you felt fit you well?

It's the same idea as the G19... "a pinch smaller than a duty pistol". It's 2/10's narrower and 4/10's longer.

Dual-sided slide release is nice... and it is sexy. I also like the dot-sights better than the Glock bar-sight.

Most of my pistol experience has been with full size guns. The ones I liked the most were the gen 2 glocks, the FN .45, and the XD45. I also have a cheap hi-point c9 that i occasionally take if i need to leave it in my car. It fits my hand well with the 10 round mags.

Thanks for your input, i'm currently looking into what it takes to get a CCW license in my state - and getting a nice gun I can get intimate with and keep for a long time is high on my list.

Scrappy Jack 01-07-2013 05:43 PM

I'm no help, then, as I tend to be much pickier about what I prefer. I have shot: XDs, H&Ks, M&Ps, Beretta 92FS, Glocks, Kahrs, a bunch of Sigs and more I am sure. I distinctly did not like the H&Ks or Beretta (too blocky), the Glocks (just didn't fit me well; I think they were Gen2?).

I like the potential flexibility of the P250c but if you are comfortable with the Glocks, it seems like they are hard to go wrong with if you are having to buy without a test drive.

Core15 mags came in today. Glad I was able to snag some, but these things feel cheap. Don't think they will last long.

fooger03 01-07-2013 06:36 PM

I got the core15 mags on Saturday. They might "feel" cheap, but they're the military standard with the latest upgraded anti-tilt follower. Don't use them as hammers and they'll last forever.

Tekel 01-07-2013 07:57 PM

That's good to hear. Only comparison I have are Russian/Bulgarian surplus AK mags.

Congrats on this decision, beers on me some day.

NM is SHALL ISSUE.

Are you 21?
No felonies?
No domestic violence?

Take a course (I think the state mandates 15hrs of instructions), do the paperwork, send money... takes 2 months to process.

1) Complete two-page application
2) Photocopy of New Mexico Driver License of ID
3) $100.00 Application Fee (no cash)
4) Certified Original Birth Certificate**
5) Training Certificate
6) Two Fingerprint Cards, complete and signed
7) Health Information Release Form
8) Authorization for Release of Information

New Mexico does a few things that are "funky".

First, they annotate on your licence the caliber of gun that you qualified with, and you're not allowed to carry a higher caliber. SO... take the course with a .45acp semi-auto and a Taurus Judge... that way you can carry everything short of a Desert Eagle.

Second, you have to "requalify" by taking a refresher course every 2 years even though your license is good for 4 years.

Third, they make you sign a specific waiver that allows them to research your medical history.

Fourth, you are only allowed to carry ONE weapon at at time... WTF?

Again, congrats... let me know if you come across anything else you find strange. If should be pretty easy minus a bit of paperwork.

Well crap. Called and calle and called and got nothing but busy signals on their phone so I decided to just go ahead and order around 1. Finally got an email at 10:30 saying its back order with no estimated eta. Guess by this point I'm either hoping nothing happens or I get a upper post any ban that might happen with none of the goodies that are on most lists. Flash suppresses, threaded barrel, or fire grip/cover

GeneSplicer 01-08-2013 09:09 AM

I wouldn't worry about it... UNLESS any ban that gets passed, all-out stops new production of 'pre-ban' items.

Under the '94, you could still easily buy the goodies for your 'pre-ban' weapon(s), just so long they were not on your 'post-ban' weapon, including the 30rd mags. I can't remember the validity of 'proximity' though... meaning, I could own a FA kit for a M4 and be legal, so long as I didn't have anything it could be installed in... which would make it pointless. Gray area... one could get in trouble for constructive intent.

I think it'd be a stretch to see any ban that stops production on ALL new items that fits their 'scary-looking-rifle-gun-grabbing' agenda...
Playing politics, there where A LOT of senators/congressmen that were not re-elected because of their vote on the '94 AW ban... hopefully some will remember that.

Oh New Jersey... You so crazy.

Also since my state doesn't really give a shit what I own, anyone out there use a suppressor on the reg? Just want to see what company you prefer. Specifically in 9mm and .45 ACP. I've been a big fan of SWR, Silencerco, and AAC functionality myself.

old school 01-09-2013 06:44 PM

Got to go to the range a fue days ago and blow off some steam
Shot
45 acp 1911 Springfield armory : nice acurate but slow. Big holes
9 mm CZ 75: quicker nice gun
380 SIG : very fast gun, small ccw gun good accuracy
22 LR Ruger mark lll SS 5.5 inch bull barrel: extremely fast gun ultra accurate drops on target at 45 feet naturally with cheap ass blazer ammo even. Tried alot of different ammo in it and they all worked great. Amazing the groupings that you can get no matter what ammo you throw at it. Put over 600 rounds through the Ruger to break it in. Love this gun.

Also picked up my Czech CZ 52 yesterday. I like it 7.62 ×25 round . Stopping power of a 357 revolver and four times the accuracy. Very reliable gun, just don't dry fire it. My hand cannon haha.

hustler 01-09-2013 07:39 PM

I still want that green CZ 75 P-01

old school 01-09-2013 08:23 PM

The CZ 9 MM fires real nice. Reasonably fast. Accurate, cheap to shot an all around good carry gun. I have pretty big hands and it feels good to me( it fits). Plus worst case scenario you wont have hearing loss if you have to fire it in the house and it shouldn't go through walls.

Tekel 01-09-2013 08:36 PM

My mark II hates Winchester white box. That stuff is garbage. At least 1 of every clip wouldn't have enough power to re-cock it.

old school 01-09-2013 08:56 PM

My first 100 rnds was Winchester wildcat 22, 40 grains lead round nose, in the white box. Zero feeding problems and i was shooting rapid fire. Ten rounds under five seconds all night. Firm grip low recoil at 15 feet would drop in last hole alot of the time.
