Pen, I have one in .40 that was my first gun purchase. While I can shoot accurate as hell all day long with that thing, be aware there is little aftermarket support. The best I've found was a reduced recoil guide spring, from zahal armory, iirc.
Mine is my "couch gun", it stays in an armrest. Only thing I've done is a laser and a tacticool paintjob. Oh and mags are generally a bit pricey.

Those .22lr prices are ridiculous low compared to the rest of the country, buy now!

As for the PMR-30, I refuse to buy Keltec products until they unfuck their whole business model, starting with production and quality control. KT has always been a huge disaster as a company IMHO. They essentially build niche market toys that are somehow incredibly popular with anybody you wouldn't label a "Fudd", yet they stop at about 80% of the R&D process and release crap quality products that customers put up with because they're cheap and "cool"... except then they don't produce enough of them to keep the price down.

This is why you can't find any of their really cool stuff for less than double MSRP. I've finally started to see the SU16's come down to "reasonable" (as in, like $600), but that's still more than you can build an AR15 for currently, and the only metal part on those is the barrel... how the hell do they get so much for those?

I'll know KT has fixed their shit when they haven't tried to release ANYTHING new in 3 straight years and I can find Sub2000's and RMR-30's everywhere for $300.

I miss my .40 cal Sub2000... but didn't miss having another caliber to stock. I really want to find a 9mm one someday... I really did like that gun...

I would have one too... perfect "do-all" complement to anybody carrying a matching-magazine pistol. G17+Sub2k= perfect apocalypse combination.

I too have been looking at the 9mm sub2000, but Ive resisted buying one since I already have my Beretta carbine that doesnt get shot enough.

For some reason Ive also had the urge to pick up one of the many variations of stamped steel boxy pistols (9mm or 45acp) like a mac-10. I think I just like them because theyre ugly.

The sub 2k is pretty sweet, but I carry .40 so its no problem. however I have had no issue with kel-tec to be honest. Maybe I got lucky or I baby the weapon too much. I used to have a PLR-16 for about a few months, but it was bare bones so I sold it after I just couldnt find the handguards and shit.

Finally got out to the range with my handloads... first time REALLY trying to shoot for accuracy. All shots are with a bone-stock G19 @25ft, strong-hand supported, iscocles stance, one shot about every 1.5 seconds.

I suppose I could have taken more time for each shot, but I usually don't concentrate near as much on the basics as I did for this "testing".

All loads are mixed brass, 115gr Ranier Plated Round-nose@1.145", Alliant Power Pistol, 5.5/5.7/5.9grains, with 3 different primers (Rem 1.5/Winchester/Wolf) for each powder charge. I shot 10rds of each mix, 90rds total... warmed up with a few mags of WWB first though.

Here are a few of the targets... best group was about 3.25" with 5.5gr and Winchester SPP's. The Remington primers hit much harder than the Winchesters and the Wolf's were in between. The 5.9gr/Remington felt like a +P Corbon. I learned a lot... like how freaking obvious it is that I pull all my shots left.

Are you firing all the rounds in a full magazine or is that a set number of rounds being fired per target?

When I am going for accuracy and slow firing, I tend to fire 5 or 10 round groups for consistency (and I like "round" numbers).

I fired 10rds of each type intially. Then after I'd done all 9 courses, I came back and fired 5 more, so you should see 15 rounds in each target. I've got a couple more targets that I couldn't fit in one pic, but no groups are as good as the 5.5/Win combo.

Last night I sat down with some snap caps and practiced dry-firing in the living room... think I learned a few things. First, I got very intimate with the trigger... and discovered it's pretty rough. I'm gonna do some homework on aftermarket parts... LOTS of room for improvement in there.

Just some unsolicited advice here. When I pattern like this(left of POA) I go back to a little stronger support hand and concentrate on slow steady trigger pull to correct it.

It seems to happen after I have shot a few dozen rounds and get sloppy.

A good trigger will change the entire gun.

As a data point, I've sold 9,000 rounds (all I could get) of CCI Mini-Mag this month for $1981. Demand is still crazy but I can see it dying down a bit. Even though I am really wanting to take my 10/22 to the range I hope the prices stay up for a while longer. Just too much easy money to be made.

Makes me want to sell some .22 off, not much time to get to the range with the little one here... so I can await a return to normal.

Will things get back to normal is my concern :(

It might take a while but things will definitely get back to normal. The manufactures are making as much as they can but people are hoarding it creating the high demand (preppers and hoarders). The scum sucking bastards like me making money on it aren't causing the shortage. I have a friend who went to Walmart and stood in line at 5AM every morning for a couple of weeks to get his 10K rounds. He won't shoot and and won't buy any more. There have to be a lot of people who are doing that. I still think there will be a second wave of shortages. The ammo will become available in Walmart again and then I'll go get my 50K rounds. Prices will kick back up at that time for a while. It will be interesting to see how far the prices drop after everyone has their stockpile. I just watched AKs do the same thing. They dropped, the price jumped back up and now they are dropping again.

I tried to convince the friend who bought the 10K rounds to give them to me a few months ago so we could make some money on them. He kept telling me he wanted to keep them. A few days back he told me he reconsidered and would give me some to sell. I declined because at this point all the good money for the Winchester/Federal bricks from Walmart are gone. Not any real money to be made from them. I think that is a sure sign that we are getting close to the end of this. I sold 1000 rounds of Tula .223 (with free shipping) the other day. Shipping to the other side of the country cost too much and we only made $12 on the order. We probably would have made at least $100 six months ago even with the high UPS cost.

So what you are saying is... I should break the seal and start selling off the 10k rounds of Match Grade Winchester 40gr LRN I've been sitting on since 2004? Or I'm too late...

It is probably worth around $0.12 a round. A year ago you could have sold it for $0.18 a round. Selling the 10K rounds for $1200 and then buying them back for $800 a year from now would be something to think about.

Selling a couple hundred thousand rounds of 22lr over the past year may have been a good business to be in. I wouldn't know because that would probably have some tax consequences that I wouldn't want to mess with. :naughty:
