A Miami police officer fatally shot a naked man chewing the face of another man Saturday afternoon on a downtown causeway off-ramp, officials said.
The Miami Herald reported that the naked man chewed off half the face of his victim, who is struggling for his life.
The violence started at 2 p.m. on the MacArthur Causeway off-ramp, just south of the Herald’s offices, the newspaper said.
Witnesses said that a woman saw two men fighting and flagged down a police officer, who came upon the naked man mauling the other man, the Herald reported.
The officer, who was not identified, ordered the naked man to back away, but when the man continued the assault, the officer shot him, the Herald said. Witnesses told the Herald the wounded attacker continued to eat his victim, so the officer continued firing.
Witnesses said they heard at least a half-dozen shots, the Herald said.
The naked man was later seen lying face down on the pedestrian walkway just below the newspaper’s two-story parking garage, the Herald said.
The naked man’s victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center and had critical injuries, police told the Herald.
Neither man was identified.
“Based on the information provided, our Miami police officer is a hero and saved a life,’’ Javier Ortiz, spokesman for Miami police’s Fraternal Order of Police, told the Herald.
A police department news release about the shooting did not include many details provided by witnesses to the newspaper.
Police requested surveillance video that had been obtained by the newspaper, the Herald reported.
The shooting and investigation tied up causeway traffic as crowds were arriving at South Beach for an annual Urban Beach Week hip-hop festival.

"...Aguilar said the officer saw what the man was doing, and ordered him to stop. He said the man growled at the officer, and then returned to his meal.
Aguilar said the man ate his victim’s nose and eyeballs.
The officer then used his service weapon and shot the man, Aguilar said, but the gunshot had no effect."
Sadly no word from the autopsy yet... i take it lots and lots of pcp.

I welcome someone to try and eat my face. So just long as I have a 3 ft pipe, baseball bat, knife arm, 4' 2x4, sword or some similar type of handheld weapon nearby me.
I'm hoping in a REAL zombie apocalypse, the need for a firearm would just be for lazy people. Slow moving, mindless bodies need to be physically damaged, not shot.
I mean ---- I'd even make some little pipe bombs for larger packs of them, but just shooting at them would be too boring for me.

As far as weapons/ammo. I would go with a FN PS-90 and a FN 5-7 pistol. Both use the same the 5.7 ammo and is extremely light. With a magazine extension for the pistol, you can have 30 rounds, and the ps-90 will carry 50 rounds. Done and done.

The whole question is moot if you live where the problem starts and your at work, unless you are allowed to and always carry there. I live in a mostly rural area so unless we are at the epicenter then I assume there would be some warning and a chance to prepare.
I would load my truck and car with all the food and firearms with ammo, then hightail it to my parents which is way out in the country. Their house has two walls buried in a hillside so it would be easier to fortify. Portable generator with well and storage units for heat would make it very servivable. Oh ya and mom's home cooking.

If there really is a zombie breakout, I'll survive no problem. Island, baby! Just blow that bridge and bust out the boat.
Yo Jake, you're welcome to stay at my place during the breakout. Only condition is you gotta stop being a faggette. And no more texting me pictures of your ----.
Go see a doctor or something, it looks terrible.

Id stick to what I shoot well.
Pistolas
.44 mag - Stopping power, doesnt jam, accurate to a pretty decent range for a pistol
.40 Lightweight, Rapid fire, decent for close range
Rifle
7 mag - Can get a kill shot up to around 400 yards on a cold bore, never tried any farther. Also has decent recoil so I can run through a magazine with ease
.243- Backup for the 7mm because I have so much ammo, accurate to about 200 yards.
Shotgun-
Some 125 dollar Gainer mountain home defense model 12 gauge, no idea what it is. No plug and no choke, but I can put 6 rounds in it and it cycles beautifully. Can hit some clays with it to, have won a few clay shooting contests against friends with it.
If I was at the house when I found out,I have the equipment and materials to load all of them
Did they do an autopsy on the zombie guy?

HACKENSACK, N.J. — A man who stabbed himself and threw pieces of his skin and intestines at police officers trying to subdue him was hospitalized in critical condition on Monday, authorities said.
Officers encountered 43-year-old Wayne Carter on Sunday morning when they responded to reports of a man barricaded in a room in Hackensack and threatening to harm himself, police Lt. John Heinemann said.
Two officers kicked in the door and saw Carter in a corner, holding a knife in his hand, police said. Carter, ignoring the officers' orders to drop the knife, stood up and stabbed himself in the abdomen, legs and neck, they said.
Carter yelled at the officers and took an aggressive stance, and the officers used pepper spray in a bid to subdue him, but it had no effect, Heinemann said.
Police said Carter then cut off pieces of his skin and intestines and threw them at the officers.
The officers decided to retreat and call in the Bergen County SWAT team, Heinemann said. Carter finally was restrained and was taken to a hospital just before midnight.
No charges have been filed because of the unusual nature of the case, Heinemann said. He said he believes drug use or mental illness may have contributed to Carter's behavior, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Carter had been arrested in the past for aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
