11/14/09 Mid-Atlantic / NE Dyno Day - Roll Call Thread

DETAILS FOR DYNO DAY, PLEASE READ ALL

We reserved the date 11/14/09 with ACA Performance in DE.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/73+Albe...DE+19702-1361/

Phone number there is (302)369-0200

We should be there at 8:30am at the latest and dyno runs will begin at 9am sharp and we will run until we are all done.

If you are NOT going to hit the dyno, please park in the lot across the street so we can have room to move the dyno cars around.

2) $65 for four pulls with wideband, and just like in the past, they will let us do more than four pulls with some tuning in between at that price as long as we don't abuse it. If you're going to bitch about the price, don't come. :fawk:

Lunch will be on Rick and me and probably be pizza again so I can take home leftovers cause I'm a cheap jew.

3) If you plan on getting on the dyno, this will be the process to keep things running smoothly:
  • When you arrive find Brgracer (Tom) to sign a release form for the dyno shop
  • You will be asked to get your car to the staging area when the car before you is on the dyno (this is so you are ready to hit the dyno so make sure you car is warmed up, laptop hooked up, etc... we are having a lot of cars so don't waste time)
  • If you plan on making any adjustments between runs (AFPR/MBC/different maps) have EVERYTHING ready in advance, i.e. have tools out, have a plan, and make several maps so you can quickly upload them

MOST IMPORTANT If you are coming, I need you to post here so we can plan accordingly.

  • How many people/cars are coming? If you want to also give me car details then great.
  • How many cars are dynoing?
  • How many peeps are eating?
  • How many peeps will be karting the day before?

Once we are done making our pulls we'll head over for lunch and hang out. We can hit the kart racing place again and possibly dinner afterwards so bring your helmet just in case, if you have one.

Save the date bitches! Nov 14, 2009 Saturday. Dyno, cool cars, peeps, food, and fun.

Secondly, at least 5-6 of us will be taking off the Friday before 11/13/09 to go indoor kart racing. It's ~$125 for all you can kart between 11am-11pm. It's here Welcome to MidAtlantic Grand Prix - Home of Racing Excitement and while it says $99 for the all you can kart, that's the membership price and membership is ~$25. As the date gets closer, if you are interested, PM me or post here as well.

evank 10-24-2009 02:02 AM

Dyno - yes. Food - yes. Karting - maybe.

saint_foo 10-24-2009 02:21 AM

So, for those of us heading up Friday....party after karting? Brewski's in a hotel?

ArtieParty 10-24-2009 03:03 AM

I have a planned party to go to on saturday night. But thanks for the offer Ed!

I still plan on having new engine in and partially tuned by dyno day.

disturbedfan121 10-24-2009 10:49 AM

i'm down to go.
I'm Bryan

Oh I know a bunch of you guys got plans Saturday night...but what about Friday for those heading up like Braineack, Lars, neogenesis, me, etc?

brucew 10-24-2009 01:33 PM

I'm still in. Dyno, food, and probably karting after.

I can't make the Friday karting party, though.

the_man 10-25-2009 07:47 AM

I'm going to try to nake it. No point in dynoing the Miata again (nothing changed since May dyno day), but I figure it would be worth seeing some other setups. GF may want to tag along.

miataspeed2005 10-25-2009 09:38 AM

Count me in with the wife. Only thing that sucks is that I will be running a link and don't have the software to tune on a laptop only the link pad bullshit. Anyone have it?
Btw I'm Nick

Mach929 10-26-2009 07:01 AM

i'm coming, probably alone, can't make friday.

saint_foo 10-26-2009 02:43 PM

I guess I'm caravaning up w/ Braineack, neogenesis, Lars on Friday.

We kart until ???

Friday night - crash at a hotel?

Saturday - dyno/lunch

Saturday afternoon - head home and catch UFC 105 at 10 p.m.

Profit???

Braineack 10-26-2009 02:47 PM

karting depends on how we are feeling. I think last year we started at 1pm, broke for dinner and a little wrenching and went back for another hour or so. i think we finished at 10, came home to play video games but was too beat to play for more than ten minutes. it was very exhausting, you'd be surprised.

shuiend 10-26-2009 05:06 PM

So now the question is do I bring up the boosted 94 or the 300k miles 92.

neogenesis2004 10-26-2009 05:11 PM

whichever one you actually think can get you home.

y8s 10-26-2009 05:17 PM

larz: do not bring your swine flu.

here's a tip though since you asked: you'll have all the regions big miata nerds in one place. bring the one that will show the best.

shuiend 10-26-2009 06:52 PM

No swine flu here.

So it has been decided I will bring my Integra. The MAD TYTE VTAK will PWN you all. Really 8k redline is what you will all be jealous of.

Braineack 10-26-2009 07:15 PM

are you going to dyno it? can we put a leaf blower on it?

why not get your ebc to hold boost flat to redline and dyno at 15psi?

Quality Control Bot 10-26-2009 08:04 PM

Brain, you better not be buying small pizzas you bas-tard!

Atleast 5 party sizes, and soda!

LOL

Because I am scared of http://gallery.y8s.com/d/21910-1/DSC_0704.JPG

Hell if I get working cops I guess I can do some 15PSI runs. All else fails its a reason to build the engine this winter.

thirdgen 10-27-2009 12:18 AM

I will be there.
No for karting.
Yes for eating.
As for the dyno...90% no. If I get there and my car is EBC equipped and I have my 460's in, then we'll see.

Alex035, you need to be on the "Yes" list.

miataspeed2005 10-27-2009 08:09 AM

Anyone want to caravan together? I see some people from NJ that would be on my way to DE

Usual meeting spot for us Jersey peeps is at the rest area that's like a mile south of exit 7a. I think its the Richard Stockton Rest Area.

OR

We meet at the scenic overlook just south of exit 60 off 295. (Exit 7a off turnpike and then take 195 west to 295 south and its before the first exit.) Ill see what the local miata mob wants to do when it gets closer.

Sounds good, I have to check and see if that's on the way to DE. I know I'm going all through NJ I just don't know what part

miataspeed2005 10-27-2009 02:31 PM

BTW if anyone has a good condition drivers door panel for a 1990 and a black upper deck carpet that they can bring to the dyno day I need one. Let me know a price

It is. You'll inevitably wind up on the NJ Turnpike through central NJ. It's the only direct route from metro NY into Delaware.

295 is so much better than the turnpike. The only time I ever go on the turnpike is if I'm going to newark airport or NYC. If you are going south of 195, you are dumb for not taking 295.

The local road by my house goes over the turnpike right around exit 7. About 75% of the time the traffic is stopped or barely crawling in both directions.

miataspeed2005 10-28-2009 08:10 AM

Alright well when it gets closer to the date let me know what time and where you are guys are meeting and I'll be there.

Yo dude, whatever. At least I'm showin up. I just don't want to dyno cause I don't wanna blow smoke all over the place again. Now you got me started, so I guess there might have to be an injector swap and a diyautotune order placed. Change my dyno answer to 50/50, and I will give you a definate by Wednesday 11/4.

Braineack 10-29-2009 11:17 AM

Hey, I replaced my shortblock so I wouldn't do this :P

minileprechaun 10-29-2009 12:21 PM

i still have a stock miata .. but can i still go to meet, watch, and learn?

and maybe someone has a timing gun and can tell me if my timing is off??

Braineack 10-29-2009 12:28 PM

of course, and you can mooch like Todd. I'll try to remember to grab my gun.

thirdgen 10-29-2009 01:15 PM

I'll bring MY timing light so I don't feel like such a mooch.

neogenesis2004 10-29-2009 01:20 PM

We don't care how YOU feel.....mooch

thirdgen 10-29-2009 01:26 PM

LOL! You guys are awesome. I think you 2 are segregating me cause I have a T25 turbo and you guys are running T3's. Either way, my mooch ass will still be there.

miataspeed2005 10-30-2009 08:37 AM

If I don't make at least 240whp at 15psi and 18deg at 200kpa I'm flipping shit. Btw I need to post my spark map so you guys can take a quick look and help me a little

Braineack 10-30-2009 08:44 AM

thats about where you should be...but who knows with the GIMP ecu.

swimming108 11-02-2009 05:38 PM

will anyone there be able to help me sort out the data on my adaptronic while i am there? If yes, then i will probably be able to make it. If no, i need to shell out some change for some real dyno time.

Braineack 11-02-2009 08:51 PM

y8s & neo will be there with adaptronics...im sure any of us can help. plus i wanna see your power output since you just posted your 1/4 time, curious to see.

18psi 11-02-2009 08:56 PM

Adaptronic is just as easy as, or maybe even easier to tinker with than MS. I'm sure all these guys will tune your shit to TIP TOP condition.

I just wish I was close and could come to all these badass dyno days you guys keep having damnit:vash:

swimming108 11-02-2009 09:01 PM

I am sure you will find that i am a shitty driver from this data

ArtieParty 11-05-2009 10:26 PM

New engine went in today. Tomorrow I'm hooking all the shit around it up. Should be good to go for next week.

miataspeed2005 11-05-2009 11:01 PM

Hopefully someone can help me tune my shit better

y8s 11-05-2009 11:28 PM

I have stickers that go on my license plate that say "11"!

miataspeed2005 11-07-2009 06:17 PM

Can someone that is coming do me a huge favor and download data log labs free 30 day rial so I can log my runs? I down loaded the trial about 2 years ago and it ran out. Tahnks for the huge favor

Faeflora 11-07-2009 09:46 PM

In!

* How many people/cars are coming? If you want to also give me car details then great.

1 person, 1 car. Turbo. Diesel. 83 mercedes wagon.

* How many cars are dynoing?

zero unless someone wants to let me dyno my dads turbodiesel at the end of the day. i'll pay 15 bucks :)

* How many peeps are eating?

zero unless there's vegan options :)

* How many peeps will be karting the day before?

zero..

---

My miata will be on jackstands getting the engine and other parts pulled just in time for the event, hence the turbodiesel.

neogenesis2004 11-07-2009 10:17 PM

Vegan? You are uninvited. This is an event for meataterians only.

ArtieParty 11-09-2009 08:15 AM

WOOT! Car's all put back together and it's not leaving a huge cloud of smoke everywhere. Looks like I'm definite for this Saturday.

18psi 11-09-2009 08:22 AM

You assholes better get some GREAT video's of this shit.

TurboTim 11-09-2009 09:00 AM

I'm out, at least for the dyno'ing. I will still come to check out the new setups.....probably.

saint_foo 11-09-2009 12:14 PM

...although I'd be just as happy eating a cheese pizza w/ some beer or soda. That doesn't require meat....but it makes it better.

What are we doing Friday night? I vote Korean BBQ if there's one nearby.

brgracer 11-09-2009 02:43 PM

Aite bitches, this is on for both Friday karting and Saturday dyno day. I called around to confirm.

At least 7-8 of us are going karting and we'll be meeting at the kart place at 11am if anyone else wants to join. If you wanted to meet up with us later, PM me so we can make arrangements.

shuiend 11-09-2009 03:41 PM

Hookers and Blow!

y8s 11-09-2009 03:53 PM

prob planning to head up closer to mid day friday so I have time to change my oil and busted water line (I hope it's a busted water line) and maybe wash the car.

AlexO35 11-09-2009 09:48 PM

Looks like I'll be there Saturday, but no dyno or kartng....
--Alex

y8s 11-09-2009 10:24 PM

Things are not looking that great for y8s. coolant is spewing out of the car from god knows where and I wont have time to look at it during the day until MAYBE friday. So uhhh...

Stay tuned.

Also I need an oil change.

miataspeed2005 11-10-2009 07:37 AM

My mazda comp mm are finally coming Friday after a month! I'm going to put these in Friday night, so everything better go smooth. NJ peeps did you guys come out with a meeting spot?

ArtieParty 11-10-2009 07:46 AM

I think we're going with the scenic overlook on 295. Just south of 195. Lemme get in touch with the guys (and gal) and see what we come up with.

saint_foo 11-10-2009 09:56 AM

So, how many of us are doing last minute things prior to the dyno?

I'm hopefully getting a new radiator put in tomorrow.
