No idea how it happened. I was just leaving work at 4pm. Raining out and slippery. Wasn't stomping on the gas at all, don't even think I was in boost or if I was it was under 5 psi. All the sudden a loud banging. Thought I threw a rod. But it went away when the car was stopped and clutch in and engine sounded great. Drove it the mile back to my office with the banging trans. Met up with Disturbed fan to get a trans of mine he was holding on to. Went home and got tools. got back and started around 7:30. Had to drop the diff too because no way were the PPF bolts coming out. Shattered a socket trying. So that added work plus that fact that we were all tired as **** we didn't finish till 1:30am.

What really sucks about this whole thing is I was planning on pulling that trans and motor before dyno day. I have a very low mileage 94 motor and a 99 head ready to drop in along with that spare trans. But I wanted to see how much power I was putting down with 269k miles on the motor so I figured I'd do it after dyno day.

Big warehouse to work in at my office so we were out of the rain.

it almost didn't happen but it was a good time (for most of us).
hopefully someone will post up some of the pics/vids of the day as well. After Paul's done celebrating his B-day I'm sure he'll post the dyno sheets.
btw I got pissed on on my way to arlington afterwards. Oh, and I got lost again....I'm a ******* retard with directions.

I'm one of those who did NOT have a good time. (Well, I did until it was my turn to dyno...)

What I learned today: stock MSM PCV sucks. ("Beavis, this sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before.")

Evidence: billowing cloud of smoke and oil erupted in the middle of my first pull.

Ordered the FM turbo-specific PCV when I got home. $20 and supposedly it doesn't need to be modified for the MSM if you already have the FM intake (which I do).

Or, maybe I have blew a turbo seal. I'm not religious, but if anyone here is, then please pray for me that it's the PCV!!!

Meanwhile, after all that happened, my keychain remote control and my interior overhead light suddenly stopped working. Not did I get any power to my OBD scanner when I plugged that in. WTF ?????

I think you're giving me too much credit. The torque was about right but I think it was more like 250hp.

I called and left a msg but none of them seemed very computer savvy. I don't know if they can figure that out. Hopefully they will call me back this time which reminds me. When we rolled up at 9am they told me they wish I woulda called before coming down because they don't run the dyno in the wet and they no longer had my number to call and cancel. They said it's too dangerous and they don't want to be laying on the wet floor strapping cars in. After a little whining they let us put the weakest car on to see if grip was gonna be a problem.

That was completely unprofessional. I was gonna pay with a credit card just to stick an extra ~3% to 'em a little but I'm not like that.

Is Evan's only pull recorded by the dyno (I have it on video)? I wonder what it made even though it was stopped early and he didn't go WOT until halfway thru. haha.

I never saw the guy drop his arm to say "floor it" ... the last instruction I heard was to "get it rolling" in fifth gear, so that's what I was doing when the problem happened.

you weren't "getting it rolling" at 15psi dude which is what the log showed.

Whatever .... just like people who get concussions in bad accidents, I have no exact recollection of what happened before the smoke/oil cloud distracted me.
