It's cool to look back 1-year and see how much we've all improved. I suspect that all unlimitted guys will be under 2:00 this weekend, maybe even at 1:55.

I think we should be able to dip into the 1:5Xs quite deeply. a 1:55 would be (insert jubilant expletive here).

T1 and T2, especially T2 (in terms of braking, setting up the line, and executing) are just... well... FAST. I have literally dove into those turns hundreds of times going CCW and when I run my best laps I think I am over the limit and I am going to die. But amazingly it turns out OK.

I did not catch the 15 minute session length, missed that. So 6 to 7 laps. That is going to be tricky, more like a sprint race. Hmmm.... I think maybe I would rather have four 20 minute sessions. I like to have a couple of extra laps to really get up to speed.

I propose (again) that we try for the Saturday evening beer swap. I will can bring a few bottles of something special for the true believers of the dark Belgian variety. Anyone up for it?

I wouldn't expect all the unlimited guys to be under 2:00 this weekend. There are some turns that you will only start getting close to max speed at in the latter part of the day and by that time the heat has set in. If you know the track well, then breaking that in the morning shouldn't be too hard. I am not saying that I don't have faith in you guys, as most of you have more track time than me, but just saying you may need to be able to hit it by the second session and that can take some ***** to get comfortable again at that track, going that fast.

I feel like I could tear *** out there right now thanks a lot to chump car out there a week ago. I think my N/A car is going to be a 1:58ish car if I can get out there on a good day when it is about 50-55*.

Although it cost way too much for my current financial well-being, I'm glad I signed up for the 2-day. I want the 55. Most of us were under 2-minutes going CW, should ewe not expect the same for CCW?

From my expirence I see less of a deviation from the FTD for each person going CCW than I do CW. Also, your last event there was in November, so that will play a role in it as well. It is definately doable, especially if you learn the track well Saturday and haul ***** Sunday morning. The main area where I see people lose time going CW is going too slow in turn 1/2 and weird lines in 8/9 and going slow through turn 12.

1:55 is hauling some serious ***. The highs on saturday look to be in the low to mid 90's with a low in the mid 70's. That may be why they wan to run 15 minute sessions and not 20's

CCW is faster if you look at all the times for all classes. Get a better run up to speed coming out of 1-2 than coming out of larry-curly-moe on CW. At least that's the theory. My data shows higher straightaway speeds going CCW so it makes sense to me.

55 is retarded fast in a miata. Watching Zx-tex pull me on the little straights at Cression has me thinking I might need to bring a 5lb bag o' sugar to TWS. He will be a force to deal with. Perhaps we can plan a blocking stratedgy.

Nah. I'll just tuck in behind with a camera and his stagefright will take care of the rest.

I agree with the importance of 1-2. That sweeper is the key for me in both directions. Just gotta man up. Last year Ken-O dropped 1.5 in a CCW session and shared his data with me (thanks). It was all in 1-2.

Wish more guys had Traqmates (Ken uses maxq) as there is def time to be found when sharing data. Even with unequal cars (tires notwithstanding), corner speed is corner speed..right?

I made it through Hallett several times at 95*, and since TWS is faster I should have an advantage on cooling, right?

I'm toying with the idea of redoing all my ducting this week. It's all so janky and ghetto.

Turn 1 is about 140+ if you got some hp, and 2 is about 100ish? Just taking a guess as I hardly ever look down and have no data aq.

Don't mess with your car this close to a race.

BTW, want to come over and help with my PnP? I'm hoping it shows up tomorrow..

That sounds about right. T1 was 140-145 on the SV-650, and T2 was probably around 100. I used to grab two downshifts entering T2 but then I stopped and just carried 5 through the corner. Be sure not to early apex T2 or T3.

I just tried out the clutch on the car with a quick spin on my private test track **cough** neighborhood **cough**. After flushing out the normal fluid with Motul brake fluid, gravity bleeding the slave, reverse-bleeding the master with a mity-vac, adjusting the clutch pedal, and insulating the clutch line, the shifting is much, much better. Dramatically better. Downshifts are now easy.

If your looking at NASA times that's because nobody runs cw in Aug. But everyone is there in April. And whoever said it's gonna be hot has obviously never been there in Aug. Try 103-105* in the shade. I ran 2:00.0 in those temps. And I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but unless it changes, the trick will be who can get closest to 2:00. And that will take even bigger *****!

Hey this is not that time of year when all of the DAMN love bugs are all over the place is it? Talk about a huge stinking mess. If you have never been there when it happens it is like a locust plague. They are everywhere.

LOL, I remember that rental car (I'm at 4:05 chasing/being held up by the vette). Rental Guy was a good driver and stayed out of everyone's way for the most part. Put a grin on my face every time I passed him. Can't remember if it was a hundai, toyota, best guess is honda though. The gang rape at 3:45 (spoolin in the red miata) is classic. Good times.

Just looked at last years data. On my best lap (2:00.6) I was at 118mph before lifting for T1 and dropped to a low of 79 mph while in T2. That was on fresh 13" R6, last session of the day. Ken's M3 was carrying ~85 through T2, so theres plenty to pick up in just that one corner. I plan to find the limit and do some farming there this time.

Is it time to go yet?

I'm pumped. John is bringing over some alumalite. I wouldn't work on my car right now if I weren't genuinely concerned about making it through the weekend. I made this plastic **** a few years ago, it sucked then, and now it's been beaten severely over the years, it even has a panel of "shiner 6-pack" currently. I have some Alumalite, aluminum angle stock, and a rivet gun to fix it. This time I'm making a rigid box and mushroom under the car.
