The Unofficially Officially Unofficial MT.net Miatas @ MRLS Meatup Thread (2019)
I agree on the point by thing. Inexperienced or nervous drivers often don't know when and where to point by. It's way easier if the faster/ more experienced person initiates the pass. Then all they have to do is stay calm and carry on. Keeping out of the way is pretty intuitive even to new participants. My last track day didn't require pointing and it was great. Lots of us were pointing but the few that weren't were still able to have fun without angry drivers filling their mirrors.
GGLC rules rock. I love running with them.
I feel that video games don't really do anything other that memorizing turns. All my years of playing forza were out the window the first time I drove there. The view/atmosphere is completely different. Its probably just me though. Youtube videos are way more helpful to me.

I feel like games help me muuuuuch more than YouTube videos.
I only have a xbox 360 with forza 3. The joystick to steering response is horrible. So you can't catch oversteer. It just sucks. On a PC with an actual simulator I could see how that could be beneficial.

Alright gentlemen, the Trackmaster's day is open for registration. Use code "zoomzoom" to get $20 off reg.
Also: the "Mixed" run group is between intermediate and advanced, not the lowest run group as it seems. Email sent....

The trailer box is 24 feet long, Miatas are 12 feet 8 inches. So no, you can't get two of them end to end. And while TPD does make stackers, mine isn't one.

Do I need a harness for LS? I've pretty much stuck to autox, but would love a shot on a real track. C class with a instructor for sure.
Maybe I'll win the lottery and some seats and harnesses will show up locally.

You don't need a harness but you will need a roll bar. I think they might let people drive in the lowest group for Miatas@MRLS but all other track day groups I know of require a roll bar.
