my buddy josh was waiting forever on some of his tranny parts to come in, plus he's been working on a bunch of other old skool datsun's and toyota swaps to make the $$$ he needed for his car. well his parts came in and he's been thrashing for the last week or so. he's 80% done and has posted some update pics. looks great. check out pages 15,16.

ae86 1uz swap - Page 15 - Corpus Racing Community

EDIT: check out page 13, also new. our friend rowdy made a great exhaust system for the ae86. headers, v-bands, custom muffler and tips. and then a local shop did the ceramic coating.

There's at least one more 1UZ-powered Miata in the US in addition to the Wreck Racing one. Andris Laivins in Austin TX built one a few years ago and drives it daily. Pics here.

It's CA-legal too, which is no small accomplishment -- he had the referee bless it before he moved to TX and installed the manual gearbox.

He chronicled the buildup on m.net. Search under his username: andris.

Props to Josh. That's one of the nicest executed swap jobs I've seen- right up there with Andris' swapped Miata. Very inspirational for us hacks.

All aluminum.

Edit: They are also cheap and plentiful. The only thing that takes a bit of $$$ for the swap is buying the flywheel/trans adapter ( unless you want an auto i.e. have a vagina)

I'll go V8 when I steal and strip a Ferrari. I'm painting the valve covers green though, lol.

All the ToyLex passenger car V8s are aluminum (1UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE). The truck engines (2UZ-FE) have an iron block with a taller deck.

I have a drain that won't unclog in the house, which chemical compound do you recommend?
