Really, it's because people who drive with them up have bad visions from getting spooge in their eyes so they need a point of reference on the front of the car so they know where it is.

 

Mine are up during the day...but it's because I have the console out again and didn't feel like seperating the switch.

mine are up because they are permanently mounted up due to the fact i took the motor assemblies out.
