Make me wonder how much work they put into tuning VVT. I know they had to cut a lot out due to time. They certainly can't show us the entire tuning process but it seems like they left a bit on the table. I mean, people with Megasquirts are getting measurable improvements all throughout the rev range vs the stock ecu.
I would also like to see them turn the boost up after doing their side by side test. Bring it up to the limits of the stock motor and then see how they feel.

OEM settings are fine, but how did they compute/duplicate the OEM (VVT) settings? We figured it out here, but did the tuner find the info and translate our maps or did he start from scratch? I guess it doesn't matter. I am just curious.
"A common Aussie joke when talking about a build someone saw online is as follows:
"Lol, 400 american horsepower, amirite?"
Your dynos read way higher than ours do."
Its like 5 posts above yours.
I did see that, but I wanted to post to see if anyone had any more insight. Either way, its cool to see them do this!
I think the European / Japanese / Australian 1.8 S-VT are pretty well tuned from the factory.
Please remember those engines have much better intake and exhaust manifolds than the USDM counterpart and I would not be surprised if that (along with the more strict emission regulations) threw off the tune for the USDM car.
I can say that out of the 40 whp I gained going bolt ons / ms3, 25-30 whp was tuning alone, if not more.
And I have the allofit nb2 with squaretop and all.
Stock tune is **** anywhere in the world.
