Given some of their other series (eg. Miata vs S2000), it wouldn't surprise me if they upgrade the supercharger once it's flogged by the turbocharged car so that they can have a "Round 2".

At the end of the video they say they think the supercharged car will have the jump and better low end. I just laugh at that because the rotrex does not have that nice low end torque, mostly because it just does not have torque.

lol
I actually enjoy watching their videos.
But if you don't constantly remind yourself that these guys are n00bs, and most the stuff they do is for amusement, you'll find yourself getting frustrated and agitated watching their shows. What's the point of watching then.
Yet another confirmation that they're clueless on how a centri sc actually works.
We're not learning anything new here, just sit back and grab some popcorn

It's ironic that Australia is one of the world's largest producers of aluminium yet aluminium products are more expensive here than many countries (same for several manufactured products, it's actually cheaper to import DBA rotors from the US than it is to buy them here yet they're an Australian company).

You can weld it with a DC TIG, easier to weld, probably cheaper and it is more stout/durable compared to aluminium in case they rub against something.
The difference in weight is probably less than a kilogram, so if that is your reason I think the level of fael is acceptable. If I would build the same I would also be using stainless.
I think these cars have much more mods than we can see right now, I bet they have changed the clutches as well. Of all the car / tuning shows shown on TV and YouTube I think MCM is one of the better ones.
I remember watching some UK show lately (Car SOS), where they turbocharged a MX-5 and retained the stock ECU with AFM and added a piggy-back of some sort.. That was another level of FAEL.
If you pause the sneak preview at the end you can see the dyno plots from both the turbo and the rotrex, you see the turbo destroys the rotrex everywhere at virtually the same boost level. What a surprise..
