I don't understand why or where the IC intake is?

 

More for the love of god i need more. I don't know why but i have a fascination with vintage photos of the race car type. Granted this isn't the same type but i figured i could contribute with my dads old t-bucket.

Here's a cutaway of an MP4/2. The relevant detail is the same as the MP4/1E in the photo you posted.
Looks like the inlet is below the radiator, using the same side pod intake as the rad. Outlet looks like it's out the side in the MP4/2... presumably in the other variations around the time it would have exited through the engine bay.




It's compromised because the car was designed for a naturally aspirated engine. The car John Watson is driving in your pic (MP4/1E) was the development mule/first-stab-at-making-the-new-engine-work. So literally only weeks before it would have been naturally aspirated.

holy **** this is a LOT of pictures.

I keep scrolling down... and just when the little scrolly bar thing gets near the bottom, more load and it zips back up an inch! i'm getting carpal tunnel from scrolling down so far.
